I'm curious what prompts color selection for a jerk bait on table rock. Chartreuse sides in clouds? Silver in sun? Any belly color no-no's? I have yet to catch a fish on table rock shad.

I'm cheap. Split shot with line thru twice. Fluoro can pull out if the weight gets stuck in the rocks saving retying. Shallow drop shot keeps the bait above the moss and slime where bottom baits lead to a green snotty mess.

+1 on the St Croix Mojo crankbait rod. Casts well, nice parabolic action for warts on light line and light as a feather.

Impressive win and impressive fishery. After day 1 I have to say I was hoping Clunn would hang in the top. Curious to see how many over 8 were weighed in the event.

I'm pretty new to the forum and I'll share what I've found. Started using braid on spinning gear 4 years ago with a flouro leader and a version of the albright knot. Zero knot fails. Includes rigging a couple of spinning rods for my son the same way. Like any knot with flouro, it can't be kinked or it will fail. I leave the flouro loop with a radius and only wrap the braid over the flouro. 15-20 wraps, wet, pull braid tight. Even with a 6-8 ft leader it slides thru the guides no problem. 10-20 braid to 6-12 flouro depending on rig.
