  1. Thank you that helps me out a lot.
  2. I guess my problem is distinguishing between gravel and the dirt on google maps. Is there very much gravel north of bridgeport? Because it almost all looks like dirt to me.
  3. Thanks. I figured it was few and far between, but I don't believe I have came across any between Bridgeport and a little ways up into James River or Flat creek.
  4. Is there a link someone could give me to a Table Rock map that has bottom composition detail? I have tried to use the one I've seen discussed on here a few times through the arc gis software or whatever that is but I wasn't able to see anything detailing the types of composition. I keep seeing/hearing people discuss fishing gravel points, but what I have been coming across is what I would consider chunk rock. I have been fishing almost exclusively Cape Fair due to less pleasure boaters, so I guess the gravel may all just be farther south. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks
  5. Were these all in the main lake area? Did you fish in the evening or morning?
  6. Got to Cape Fair at sunrise and fished up towards and in James River. Dad and I caught 19 between us. All came in less than 10 ft of water and in the shade except one by a bridge piling. Caught a few early on a black buzzbait and dad caught a couple on a spook. Caught the rest of mine on a yum green pumpkin hawgcraw that I picked up on sale at Academy. Dad caught most of his on a spinnerbait with a gold willow silver Colorado and a mixed Chartreuse and white skirt. Found tons of shad and gar in a couple coves but couldn't get any bass to hit anything around those areas eve though we saw some underneath the bait balls. Maybe too much bait or th high pressure not sure.
  7. If you are trying to go cheap, go to the bass pro outlet and you can get a pound of plastics out of their bins for $6. I don't recall seeing any pbj colors though.
  8. bferg, glad to see you had luck changing tactics. I have done most of my fishing to this point out of a kayak in small lakes and up into some small rivers. Almost all of the little fishing experience I have has either been throwing topwaters like a frog, buzzbait or whopper plopper that do not require too much hand movement from in the kayak, and flipping worms or creatures. Moving to fishing out of a boat has been really hard to move out away from the bank and fish differently. Hopefully I can let go of that mindset and have success while learning new ways/areas to fish like you have.
  9. Has anyone fished Horse Creek to Galena recently? Wondering about water flow and what they might be biting. Thanks
  10. Yeah I know. When you set it to record all episodes and it shows that it is going to record at that time on CBS in your recording schedule, then gets skipped for some unknown reason its annoying. I don't know how else to make sure it will record. I guess I will see if I have CBS sports. Not sure if I do or not. Anyone know what channel that is on Dish?
  11. I have all the new MLF episodes set to record and I saw this was on my schedule to record, but when I went to watch it last night it had not recorded. We have Dish Network and i assume it has something to do with it being on a different channel than Outdoor like when I set it up. Very disappointed to say the least.
  12. That was the first time I had been there but the gate just blocks the road from vehicles going in. I just walked around and didn't bother anyone. Saw a few people around the dock and no one said anything. Maybe I just got lucky. Did the same that at Flat Creek Restaurant the weekend before. I know I wasn't the only one then that did it.
  13. Bridgeport ramp was definitely flooded. We put in there but I walked out on their dock to get into the boat.
  14. Did you fish main lake or coves? I think we only had one fish out on the main lake near a point on a jig. All others came around stress in the shade. ~
  15. Cheese did you fish towards James and flat creek or farther south?
  16. Only had 1 fish that might have kept get into the boat.
  17. Thanks for all the input everyone. Enjoyed the day but didn't accomplish a whole lot. Dad and I put about 15 in the boat. Almost all flipping shaded cover. I had a lot of I assume smaller fish grabbing the tail end of my worm and trying to run off with it. Tried fishing a deep drop-off between the marina and Bridgeport. Had a good one break off and a few grab it and spit it out real quick. Lots of wake moved us up in the coves 16 ft aluminum doesn't stay in place very well.
  18. Do you guys have a preference for types of fishing during bluebird conditions? I haven't fished Table Rock that much and I've read some contradicting tips for these types of conditions. From what I gather it seems like with the high pressure and little to no wind or clouds, they will be deep in shallow cover or out really deep. Do you guys agree with this? As far as weights go I've seen some people say that a heavier weight for a reaction bite is the way to go and then others saying a really light weight to annoy them with a slow fall is better. As far as size of bait it seemed like the consensus was to downsize. As of now I am thinking I will start up shallow flipping cover and then maybe hit gravel and chunk rock with a ned as I move out deeper with the sun rising. Thoughts? Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks
  19. Sure looked good to us. Pulled a few lures out of some smaller ones mouths at first bite, but only got the one in the boat from what I can remember. Saw two or three gar around 3 feet long in that cove leading up to this section. Figured they were chasing bait and was rewarded with one bass at least.
  20. I decided to try and upload a picture of one that I posted to Instagram since the first attempt didn't work. It saves it as a separate picture on my phone even without using the filtering. So here is a pic of one I caught back in a flooded cove. This was only in about 5 foot.
  21. I have an android phone. Not sure what you mean by live feature. Do you know if that is the same on an android?
  22. Saving some money and catching almost as many per day and more fish per bait works for me.I've never tournament fished and I get to enjoy being on the water more often this way. Doesn't matter what you use as long as you have fun doing it!
  23. Got on the water around 8:30am after the storms and finding out that Bridgeport area was flooded and the Cape Fair marina was pretty packed and a few people not being respectful on how they parked. Put in below flat creek restaurant. Caught around 10 with 5 right around the keeper mark. All were largemouth and were either caught on a pbj hula stick, June bug or California 420 ol monster. All worm bites were in flooded timber around 10 feet deep. Ned rig got them on bluffs or chunk rock of some kind. Tried to post a couple pics from my phone but get an error. They are jpeg files so not sure why it didn't work.
  24. Ended up going to Cape Fair. Bridgeport was flooded and part of the marina was flooded. Someone blocked one of the ramps when they parked and there was a million people down there ended up putting in below Flat Creek restaurant and fished around the mouth of James and Flat Creek. Caught around 10 or so and had five right around the keeper mark nothing much bigger. Pics would upload but I think the biggest was skinny largemouth about 16.5 inches.
  25. I stocked up on watermelon red flake stick-o's on black Friday. Ended up getting 3 of the 50 packs for like $10 each. May not work quite as well but you definitely get more use out of them for the money.
