Just got back from a morning at Crane Creek...fished a couple of places. North of the city on Route A the creek is very low and dry in some places and didnt see any decent size trout...lots of fingerlings in there needing to grow for next year. Parked near the ballpark and walked down and couldnt get a fatty to take a black ant and some hares ears size 14-18. Went down lower and got as close to the James River inlet as I could near Galena and found some non-private property bridges to wade through and caught another couple decent sized bows...didnt see the famous McCloud red bows. Ive seen some youtube videos about that but not familiar where these waters are...any insights from you guys would be most helpful.

@BilletHead thank you so much. Just trying to learn some good places. Where did you go out there? If you caught cuts, more than likely you were at Strawberry. Did you make it out to the Green by chance? I lived about 20 minutes from the Provo.

Any direction is great...I'm not picky...once I get there I'm good...I have a job that is super-flexible with schedules.

Hey ya'll (did I type that right?) I just moved in from Utah where trout fishing is plentiful and have been fly-fishing for 10 years plus. Without giving up your honey-holes (because I hated when people ask me for mine back in Utah) where are some great streams/rivers within a 2 hour-ish driving distance from Springfield where i can go and catch some nice browns and rainbows. Any suggestions would be awesome! Thanks!
