  1. Here's some video I took of the area.
  2. They tore up the old and put in a new but it isn't as wide as the old one, there's also a pole blocking the entrance to keep people from using it as a boat ramp I suppose.
  3. That was the difference, turned it off and now it shows an updated image, thanks!
  4. Didn't think about that, cleared history and from my computer I'm pulling up an older image than if I use my phone, weird. Ramp at Mini Ha ha from my phone: Same area from computer:
  5. The image time frames change depending on where you're looking. For the lower Meramec from Pearless Park to Fenton it looks like winter where other area's up and down stream from there look like spring/summer and the river is filled up to it's banks.
  6. Wish I had a drone to get some aerial footage. Not sure if I've ever seen it this clear down this way, assume it's due to the low waters not picking up as much sediment. In the next few days I'm going to try and make it down towards the mouth and snap some pictures there, then I'll have quite a bit from Fenton to the mouth at the Mississippi documented. Have had the same curiosities in regards to changes of the contours due to the floods. This shows the current depth at 5.69ft at Arnold. 1989 appears to be the lowest on record at 4.30ft .
  7. Very nice, looks like a fun rig!
  8. Didn't bring a pole but went exploring a bit on the river around the Fenton area. George Winter boat ramp: George Winter: Highway 30: Old structure under water: Downstream on left(Old HWY30) and up stream on the right(HWY30).
  9. Perhaps I'm easily amused but this had me rolling!
  10. Caught a couple of bass there today. Afterwards they got their revenge, toyed with my bait and got it snagged.....twice! Catch of the day...
  11. That's awesome! I went there early morning, must of missed you all. Didn't catch anything but had a line tug and then one flop right in front of me, could of been the same fish just teasing me then rubbing it in!
  12. I'll have to remember to stop in, thanks! Hope all goes well with your surgery.
  13. As of recent when the river is low is when I seem to have the best of luck, equated it to that I was able to get out towards the deeper channel and fishing deep with jigs or stick baits. Been years since I've fished the back waters of George Winter. Many moons ago I caught my biggest catfish being goofy with a bubble gum baited hook, lol, not sure what it weighed, was around 3 feet in length and I had to drag it to shore just to get it out of the water and remove my hook.
  14. Have not fished down that way, been meaning to check it out, but for whatever reason I have not made it down that way yet with a pole.
  15. They also have some nice combo's, just picked me up a 6' with a 30 few months ago and have no complaints. Believe this reel maybe a step up from the previous posted. You can pick which reel and rod you want and at the store choose one piece or two piece rod. http://www.basspro.com/shop/en/pflueger-presidentbass-pro-shops-graphite-series-spinning-rod-and-reel-combo
  16. The trail at 55 and Meramec Bottom is the Lower Meramec Park/trail, where I was and Harris was speaking to is at the other end of that trail up stream a bit called Holzer, it's a shorter walk to the river from there. To get to it from 55 go west on Meramec Bottom, you will pass Wells Rd on the right and the next left is Holzer Park road.
  17. Was thinking it was closer, measured it off and from Lemay to Holzer it's approximately 2miles by water and upstream. Would definitely have to be calmer conditions or else you wouldn't have any arm left to cast!
  18. Thanks for your feedback. Whites are all I've ever caught from that area, been wanting to go down stream a bit to the point and casting a few from there. In regards to launching a kayak do you think it would be easier to drop in at Arnold park and paddle upstream?
  19. Thank you, Happy Thanksgiving to you, family, friends and anyone else whom is thankful that we live in this wonderful country!

    What's Cooking?

That sounds and looks so I good I just about licked my screen!
  21. Ha ha, I know right! Not even sure why they would publicize that? In that small of a craft I have no doubts it would boogie!
  22. Didn't even know some of these places existed, have to make a list and check them out. Not sure why I was stuck on Italian perviously? Our favorite stops, especially when the weather is nice, is Bob's Drive In in Imperial and Concord Grill in Concord since they both have outdoor dining. Bob's is a great place for a burgers, onion rings, BLT or ice cream and only has outdoor dining. Concord Grill has a variety of American eats with in or outdoor dining. Another we frequent is Syberg's, my only gripe about them is their pricing, somehow it seems like we end up spending $75 for 3 people to eat lunch. Most others we liked either closed up our are in the city limits, in which I steer clear from now days. Old favorites are Uncle Bills off of Kingshighway and Hodak's off Gravois, we loved Cafe Affton Sports Bar & Grill but it is now closed.
  23. It does sound fantastic! Apparently it's a turbo diesel, thinking a V-8 configuration by the sound. "Equipped as shown with a 270-HP turbo diesel with 575-Ft.-Lbs of torque and Metal Shark’s military-exclusive Swamp Shark surface drive, the 21 Riverine reaches 50-knot top speeds while offering shallow-water, swamp, and mud-flat capabilities unmatched by any other propulsion system. The 21 Riverine can safely drive across logs or other solid obstructions at a high rate of speed, and thanks to its closed cooling system with no appendages, the vessel will never suffer from overheating due to clogged intakes. Swamp Shark is the most durable and innovative shallow-water propulsion system on the market today, and it’s only available to military and government users through Metal Shark." http://www.metalsharkboats.com/21-riverine/
  24. Seem to have the best of luck when the river is low and you can walk out towards the channel more. Makes me with I had a craft to get out on the water.
  25. Thanks for the heads up! My guide shows it runs 6pm-7pm tonight.
