Nothing special really. The drip rings on the paddles help keep them from dripping on you. I thought I'd have to get out and drag the kayak a few times, but managed to push and thrust my way through the shallow spots. I ended the float with dry feet.

A couple buddies and I took advantage of the beautiful weather on Sunday and floated from Lake Springfield Dam to 160. The water was incredibly low and we dragged quite a bit even in kayaks. Fishing was slow, but we managed to catch a few bass. I noticed they've posted a bunch of "No Trespassing" signs all around the entrance to the cave. There was one spot where the river was still frozen from bank to bank but luckily I was able to break through it with the kayak. Next time we're going to float from 160 to Delaware Town. Overall, I can't complain about being able to kayak in January.
