Well after spending some time around the Riverside Inn bridge area, we've fished there, when busy with swimmers, and NOT busy with swimmers, with good luck. Several nice holes and eddies near brush piles where you can pull smallmouth out on lures, and worms, and theres always bluegill and pumpkinseed to be had.
We took advantage of the 4th of July sale at Menards, and bought two K1 Challenger inflatable kayaks, and have had good success up and down the river between Riverside Inn and the park.
For the most part, the people at the river are always nice, talkative, and when there are disruptive people, most everyone bands together to kind of stave the bad influences off.
