  1. Do any of you ever cut or mow your strawberries down for the winter. I remember when I was young and on the farm we knock ours down every year. They always produced in the late spring.
  2. What Temp. do you all smoke/cook your ribs at on the pellet smoker? How long normally? What are you basting your ribs with and how often? Pellet smoker is new to me. I am use to my wood smoker. Just do not want to ruin 2 slabs of ribs. Thanks
  3. As soon as the wife is a little better, 2 to 3 weeks, I am heading to Pomme. How is the fishing now? Always have fished the lake in April and May. Want to give it a Fall try this year. Any help and tips would truly be appreciated.
  4. You are just SICKO. Not my type at all.
  5. She has been getting better everyday. But man the first 4 days had me worried. I am considering getting some 35 yr old blonde to come in and help me with all my needs.
  6. Sure is slow on the Board lately. Not many post on any of the forums and let not talk about the lakes post. I guess everyone is just sitting at home like me. I would be fishing except, the wife had hip replacement surgery and I am doing all the stuff around here. And also had to pass on a trip that I had planned 6 months ago and was already paid for. How long are these hips painful.
  7. Does not work any longer
  8. GotaFish. Glad you saw it also. I thought that maybe it was the 4 or 5 Margarita's I had while I was smoking dinner, using my New Pit Boss/
  9. Did anyone see what I saw last night in the sky about 8:45 pm last night? Took the dog out and was looking at the stars and boom it showed up. Do not know what it was. There were 20 to 21 white lights close together, in single file, tracking mostly to the east. No noise coming from these objects. Then the lights on the objects went out one by one and disappeared. Anyone know what these things were or see them? The news has said nothing and I know I could not be the only one that saw them.
  10. The pump ball for fuel is continuing to get soft after using. Like in 24 hours. Is this normal? I am going to replace it with a new one. The old one has zip ties on both ends, to hold the hose's on the ball. Is this a normal installation now days. I have always used clamps before or constant tension clamps prior. What would you suggest that I use? Thanks
  11. I pulled the trigger yesterday. Menards $444. with rebate. Bought the 850 model. Assembled it, Burned it off. Let it cool down then fired it up and made a slab of ribs. They turned out ok, but there is a learning curve for me since I have been burning in the wood smoker pit for so long.
  12. What did you do to launch it to the moon?
  13. I have been smoking meat in my old 5/16'' thick, 4' x 2.5 ' grill area and a 2' x 2.5' burn box, wood smoker for ever. It takes 4 guys to pick it up, it is so heavy, but holds the heat very very well. I used it a lot in Texas and now up here in Missouri. Always had a roof cover over it. I may sell it once I get a pellet smoker and if I like the way it smokes my meats. Has anybody used their Pit Boss for making jerky?
  14. What you say? I am looking at buy a pellet smoker. Do not need a big, big one. Probably about 30'' in width of grilling space. Really considering a 850 pit boss. How do you like your pellet smoker. Oh ya was looking at Menards and they have a 40 bag of pellets for $14.97 per bag.
  15. Walmarts are Johnson Battery's I do believe .
  16. No Lithium's in my boat. Just Walmart, because they last and there are walmarts everywhere if there is a problem.
  17. I just use Walmart's because there are Walmart stores everywhere. Put separate one in for the 3 graphs and livescope. Works great, got over 5 years out of trolling motor battery's and were still going strong. But decided to replace them before they went poop while fishing
  18. I have to replace the pump up ball on the gas line to motor. Due to it loosing pressure at times and draining down. Question is are they balls all the same now, for the ethanol fuel are there still different grades. My friend pick one up but it does not say for all fuels or ethanol safe on it anywhere. I know the fuel lines have been changed and I just do not want any problems.
  19. It is truly sickening to see this going on. I avoid going to areas because of this. Owners of shops are more worried about their pockets than having any morel standards. Is it not still against the law to continue to serve someone who is totaled out from drinking. Then you have the police officers that are afraid to make any waves, because this is a tourist area. I am truly worried about where this country is going now.
  20. That is helpful. That is also the info my group has been giving me. They went up in June also. Thanks
  21. Well we have 5 boats/10 people going this time. They usually have 6 boats. We have not been able to go for 3 years due to my fishing partners wife being sick for that long, She has went on to her next life now, we miss her and think of her often. You are more than welcome to come along if you have a boat and partner. We are open to anybody going. Thats why they let me go.
  22. I thought I saw a piece on Lake St. Clair here a few weeks ago but cannot find it. Anyway we are headed up to Lake St. Clair on the 2nd of August for 5 days. Will be putting in several days at St Clair Shores Ramp a couple days and on real windy days and maybe just for a change up, up in the St. Clair River area of Algonac. Any Idea's what the Smallmouth like this time of the year, Baits and colors would be greatly appreciated.
