Got on water early, wanted to get the early topwater bite. Put in LBV north at 5:30 and got 3 stripers, nothing big just fun size. Got a nice smallies topwater and a few others. TW bite shut off at about 645 and then it was tough sledding with slick calm. Needed some wind I think. Got a few here and there but packed it in at 1030.

Got out early and found some topwater action using pencil popper. Mixed bag of one smaller striper, 2 nice whites ( in the 2.5-3lb range), spots and smallies. There was some topwater stripers popping up randomly in about 40ft water but I couldn't get to the action in time. Once I get my Garmin trolling motor installed, that may help in that regard. Topwater shut down at 7 so moved on to other areas. Ned seemed to be the ticket today. Tried a new color called "money" and really like it. Most around 15-20 ft range. Several good smallies, spots and 2 catfish, each around 4 lbs. 20 total Water temp 72

Got on water at 6. Was going to scan for topwater striper but just a little too much chop so went to an "out of the breeze" shoreline near docks. Threw topwater pencil popper and from 6-7 am got about 9, mostly smallies, but also got my first ever striper. Not a big one mind you, but big enough to count! At 7, topwater shut down so moved around some. No love for Ned today. Got a 20" walleye on a swimbait and then hit the banks with a bandit 200 and got smallmouth that way, nothing big, just fun size. Ended the morning with 16 total.

Nice fish! I need to try for some of those this week, never fished for them as they didn't have them up north where I moved from. Mostly main lake? Or up the river arms a ways?

Got out after the rain. Launched at LBV north and mainly fished areas I hadn't fished before in the dam area. Couldn't get anything shallow on cranks. The fish I did get only wanted the Ned in green pumpkin. I tried a green pumpkin with orange and also tried other plastics to no avail. I also could only find them in areas where there were large boulders or shelf Rock generally about 15 ft. Got 8 total, all smallmouth, nothing huge, this was largest one (I need to get me one of those measuring boards so you don't have to look at my ugly mug in photos LOL) Water temps 69-70

Thanks. That is what I thought, but wanted to verify there wasn't a ramp at a resort or something. Just looking for decent mid lake access. Both PC and LB are about equi-distance from my house.

Just wanted to see if I'm correct, in that the only ramps near the north side of Beaver with docks are Lost Bridge north and south, Indian Creek campground, and then Prairie Creek to the west. None between LBN and PC when coming from north side? (Coming from Bella Vista area). I guess if I want to fish mid lake, PC or LB south are my only options. Usually fish solo so easier to launch/load with dock available.

Got out from about 7-11 this morning, launching at LBN. Wind was blowing pretty good. Water temp about 58-59 range. Caught 10 total, mostly smallmouth, with one keeper walleye and one small spot. Had a couple decent ones get off as well. Ned in 22 ft water. Then I bank fished near main lake small creek arms. Crankbaits (Rk crawler and a bandit 200) resulting in 4 smallmouth. One near keeper and the rest shorts. Nothing photo worthy.

Got out on the lower end. Started off really slow, but I didn't get out there till after 10:00 a.m. . I went way up creek arms to get towards the end looking for shallow fish near Bank. Just had one hook up on a swimbait that got off. Tried swimbait, and a few different cranks. Went back out closer to main lake and fished shallow tapering points. 20-25 ft range, mostly on Ned rig, and a few on swimbait. Ended up getting 12 total 4 species. A 19-in 3 lb Smalley, 23-in 3lb walleye and an 18-in 2.75 lb White. The rest were mostly spots and smallie with about half shorts. Off the water about 3:45 pm

Likely did pass by each other. If you ever see a maroon Sylvan deep V, feel free to say hi. Sounds like you had a nice productive day. Being new to the lake, it is going to take a while to learn the nuances of the lake.

Never been to Indian Cr area before (newer to area) and had afternoon free so decided to give it a try. Launched about noon and fished till 3. Water temps 48 and saw 49.5 in back of Northside pockets. Water clear. Calm wind and bluebird skies. I mainly fished gravel points and areas with a little timber here and there. Did not go all the way up Indian. Caught 4, all in different areas. 2 on keitech's 2.8 and 2 on ned. Was a beautiful day on the water, though a tad more wind might have been nice.

Interesting. I lived on the Columbia in '90/'91, but don't recall these being discussed where I was, but I was working so much wouldn't have been able to fish much for these. I used to bank fish for smallmouths while everybody else was salmon fishing.

Sounds like a great day. What a crappie! I'm still off the water trying to replace my totaled truck and boat trailer in shop so must fish vicariously through the posts.

Was heading to the lake this am and a DWI driver turned into me, crashing into/disabling my truck and damaged trailer (bent crank arm and broken bunk boards - as far I can tell). Boat moved forward on trailer about 2 ft. Sadly my trolling motor is ok! Will be dealing with insurance but any recommendation for a place to repair trailer (and can go over boat to make sure all ok). Currently in the NWA metro so prefer to stay in this area. Thanks in advance!

Looks like a good day! Nice looking smallie! I have yet to fish that end of the lake (new to the area) but once house is finished that will be a lot closer for me. I did hear/see a solo striper surface feeding near horseshoe last week.

I could probably do a better job of putting lures back in the tackle box after each use! Next time!

Last day camping at HB and had a dozen crawlers left so went out for a few hours this am. Stayed close to home as didn't have a lot of boat gas in tank. Water temp 75, light breeze that picked up to a little chop later am. I didn't get started till 9:00. Thought it was going to be a catfish kind of day as caught 3 channels to start. Fishing bottom bouncer crawler harness. Fished various main lake points. Found 2 walleye in 27 ft (just under keeper size). Could see a number of them on graph in small area. Caught another jigging a white war eagle spoon, till day ended a abruptly. Managed to step on a treble hook that I couldn't get out so back to dock, got boat loaded (not so easy with hook in foot!) And was able to work it out back at camper. Maybe I'll wear shoes next time!

I think I caught one of those a few weeks ago, mid lake.

Went out from Horseshoe Bend this morning and fished from there towards Hickory Creek. Started with topwater as I saw some activity. Ended up with 3 spots using a pop-r. No love for the spook. Lots of hits but very few hook ups. They were near sighted I guess! From there, thought I'd try for some walleye using bottom bouncers and a crawler spinner harness. My crawlers were not fresh so they came off easy when bit, but managed to get a couple walleye and a few obligatory catfish. Walleye were in 25 ft on long flats. Released to catch them another day. Had some small schools of bass chasing shad when walleye fishing and managed to catch a few casting a small swim bait. Still learning this lake but good to pick up a few.

Went out of PC and fished main lake points in mid lake. Was more focused on walleye so I pulled a bottom bouncer crawler harness and marked most fish in the 27 to 30 ft range. Ended up with three walleye, one short, a 19 and a 21 in. In addition had the assortment of other fish to include a couple of spots and four channel cats. The cats seem to come if I drifted into the 20-25 ft range. speed was 0.8 to 1.0 mph I didn't take many pictures because I was experimenting with the GoPro my kids gave me as a retirement gift.

I'm new to the area and have just started fishing Beaver. Went out yesterday morning for a bit, mostly just exploring. Put in at PC and did a little mid lake fishing points. Got this 3.3 # walleye jigging in 24 ft. Used white fluke minnow.

Yup. Pretty much what @basspastor said. We never really got bit on main lake despite throwing the arsenal at them. Most every fish came back in one of the coves. My settled on green pumpkin Ned as pretty much my only bait from Saturday afternoon through Sunday. Most fish caught between about 8 to 15 ft deep. Probably equal parts smallmouth and large mouth, maybe 20 total. On Sunday got a couple walleye on the ned as well and "gramps" also got some walleye on jig and crawler. Water temps pretty much around 61-62 range. All in all a fun trip squeezed in between the rain.

wish I would have known I would have stopped and said hi. I would have classified the bite on the upper end as a hot bite. I had thought about trying some of the other lakes but couldn't work it in. wife and I have this area on this to explore for retirement in 2 years so we're just checking it out some. He's my elder so I had to let him wear it. Go Huskers! 😄

Spent the week down on loch Lomond in Bella Vista for a quick getaway. Pretty much only fished in the morning and golfing and seeing other sites in the afternoon. I have never fished this lake and spend some time doing some mapping with the Garmin. Started off fishing main lake points and didn't get too much a few here and there. Was trying drop shot, swimbait, crankbaits etc. Finally discovered (slow learner!) That on the upper end of the lake each morning the bass were schooling and chasing shad. Lasted about an hour and a half each day. And then we hammered them. I primarily was using a zara puppy topwater and also got them using a shad colored wake bait. There were also a number of boats out in the deep water by the dam but I didn't talk to any of them so not sure how they were doing. Overall it was pretty good fishing and we had a good time. Was able to fish with my 87 year old father and he had a great time!

Funny- I've had the exact same conversation. I love Stockton but it is a non starter in terms of moving to. I figure if I can be within a 30-40 drive to launch, that should be a decent compromise of lake vs City life. That is why Bella Vista and Prairie Creek areas are higher on our list.
