It was VERY tough this weekend. The only bite we could get was on the worm and it was poor. It was however a beautiful weekend and I wasnt at work... The white bass have to start hitting sometime dont they??? Chris

Sunday morning we picked up 50 between the Fish Dr. on a shakey head and a shad colored fluke type top topwater bait. The fluke bite quit when the sun came up, but the shallow Dr. bite kept up till we quit fishing. We couldn't pick up quality fish though regardless of the depth we fished. Good Luck, Chris

The bass bite was ok for us this weekend. Best times were definatly early morning. Could not get a sniff at a buzzbait or a popper, but we were catching fish on a topwater fluke type bait. The crankbait and spinnerbait bite just wasnt there for us yet. The old reliable Green Pumpkin Fish Dr. continues to catch fish in good numbers but the quality fish just are not there. I had just one fish over 15" all weekend that came on a Senko, and I write that off as a complete Karma fish as it came within 5 minutes of us towing a pontoon that had run out of gas over to the Nemo Marina. On a side note, the Karma continued on the way home as a Lebanon cop pulled me over for 55 in a 35 and did not give me a ticket. Chris

What stage of the spawn do you figure the bass are in?? I was there last weekend and caught tons of short fish but struggled finding bigger females. Will be back next weekend, any suggestions where to start? Thanks Chris

Jon, I was bass fishing Friday, Sat and Sunday morning. We had a very strong bite (200+ fish) in the backs of the north shore coves. We had 5 fish over 15", probably 25 over the 13" legal limit and the remainder in the 9 to 13" range, biggest one was 5.8 lbs. Had a blast! the majority came very shallow on Shakeyheads. I dont think the bigger females were back there, but with the warmer nighttime temps coming in they should be by this weekend. Good Luck Chris

Since trying to start conversation in the Pomme thread is like pullin teeth, I will ask here. I will be fishing Pomme de Terre next week and am relativley new to that lake. would you assume that the techniques described in this article would hold in that lake? Any other advice? thanks Chris

Got out both Sat and Sunday. Caught decent numbers both days, but all short bass. Best bite on small jigs and small jerkbaits. Warmest water we found was 53 deg. Any one finding keepers?

Not to mention heart stopping thrill of throwing a frog or a weedless fluke back up into the mat or lilly pads and the feel of your heart in your throat as that bait nears an opening... BAM!!! Those who don't do it just don't get it.

I will second Don's recommendation of Lakeside Resort. We had a group of 20+ there for 4 days last week on Dons recommendation and we were very pleased. In fact we booked our trip for next year before we left. Very helpful folks running the place went out of their way to help us have a great trip. I would also recommend spending a little time out with Mr. House. Our group hired him at the beginning of the trip and I guarantee we at least doubled our catch based on the help and advice he provided. Half of our guys are once a year fishermen, but every one of them got at least a little action. Chris

Coming down to the Shell Knob area tomorrow, planning originally to fish the Kings. Any word on the conditions there? Would you make a different choice in that area? Also, what kind of line are you throwing spinnerbaits on in these conditions? Thanks Chris
