  1. They used to donate a lot of money to anti-gun lobbyists. I don't know if that is still their policy. There used to be mention of it in different gun magazines. This does go back a few years, they may have changed their policy since that time.
  2. I gave up boats a long time ago. Unless a person has a 25 ft boat with a 5000 hp motor that will run at least 200 MPH in 6 inches of water you are risking getting swamped or killed on the water. I am strictly a bank fisherman now... well waders sometimes.
  3. Don't get me wrong guys, I am all for fishing by the rules. I don't like poachers and agree it is illegal and wrong and they should be ran off the lake. Somehow tho I doubt that every person who keeps a fish is a poacher. If I missed the point of the discussion I apologize but it seemed to me everyone was just dissing on anyone who ever kept a Bass and anyone who ever uses a worm to fish. I went back and re-read the posts and still get the same impression. I fish with worms most of the time, I never keep an illegal fish and never keep bass. Funny thing is I don't even catch many bass. Guess I am using the wrong kind of crawlers.
  4. Try 13 between Springfield and Bolivar! Its a regular racetrack. I heard NHRA was looking at it as a potential new speed sport.
  5. I fish in a lot of places and I get checked on Table Rock and at The Truman Tailrace more than anywhere I fish. Not to try to start an argument but is some people keeping a limit of bass really a big problem? I can understand why guides would not want anyone to ever keep a fish because they want an over abundance of fish in the lake so it is easy to take clients out and get them on fish hence the guides can make easy money. I understand this and can sympathize but, at the same time the lakes aren't built and fish aren't stocked and tax payers dont foot the bill for all of this so guides can make a living. Also if there were fish everywhere and it was that easy to catch them, then no one would need to hire a guide. So the big question is is this really a problem or is it sour grapes? PS: I fish with crawlers but, I do not fish for bass nor do I keep bass of any kind. I am after Bluegill or better yet shell crackers.
  6. Yesterday on Table Rock.
  7. Kind of a dicey subject. I think a person should be able to go anywhere they want on the streams but I on the other hand I dont think it is worth getting in an altercation over.
  8. Any size to them?
  9. Sorry if I gave the impression that I was upset with your post, I was not. I do get upset at the "party crowd" who think the rivers are their private partying grounds. I know not all of them do it but in general they make nuisance of their selves and leave a mess in the rivers. I don't mind them having a good time I just wish they would be cleaner and more respectful about it. I would like to see the law clean it up a little bit.
  10. Same here I thought he was talking the upper extreme upper end of the lake. I guess I mis-understood Terry's post also. Sorry guys.
  11. Hi Jon. Welcome and good luck in the Ozarks.
  12. Yes! WE WANT PICS.
  13. I agree with Terry on this one. IMO the shallow water areas up there should be off limits to power boats no matter how well they may know the area.
  14. Doesn't seem out of line to me at all. The local streams have became very popular with the party crowd in recent years. They think of them as places to go and do whatever they want without consequence. It worked well. Seems to me law enforcement could do a lot of good if they would do more spot checks at places like that.
  15. HUH The dog days of summer aren't even here yet. Have been smoking some of those 'Mexican Buds' you were talking about on the other topic??
  16. Yep it was down. I just saw a commercial on TV that gave me a really clever idea. Viagra. That will keep it up.
  17. No kidding. I am glad it is back. My wife was starting to get a bit cranky. Said I needed to find something else to do
  18. I know what happened. It was the Klingon's. They sabotaged it so the Captain couldn't use it as a means of exploring galaxies that aren't in the federation. What they done was stole all the flux so the flux capacitor couldn't flux.
  19. Pepsi has been known to donate lots of money to the anti gunners and to other people such as PETA. Makes the decision pretty easy for me. However most of the time I drink water....Water and Chevis
  20. Ain't gonna happen. They have turned fishing and hunting into a huge profit big business. Gotta replace all that lost revenue from the postal service somehow.
  21. Not to worry. If law enforcement runs over someone it isn't a big deal. It doesn't become a big deal until a law enforcement officer gets run over by a civilian, then it is a crisis. Somehow I thought they were out there to 'protect and serve' not terrorize but, what do I know.
  22. WICHITA!! I knew it. BTK YIKES!!
  23. If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I 've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull ... But that's not the worst of it. My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close. My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather. My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins. It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently. But here's the worst of it -- Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter.....either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model.
  24. Well, with an night-stalker type avatar like that I don't believe I will be going night fishing with you anytime soon.
