  1. Greg is right. Phil did a good job putting up a site for everyone. There are warm water fishing sections on here but, they don.t see much traffic. I spend more days per year fishing for warm water fish than I do trout. Like you I was in hopes there would be more talk about bass, walleye, crappie, bluegill, catfish ect fishing than there is. It just doesnt seem like the people who fish for those types of fish post much. We need to get more people talking somehow.
  2. Spammers can be a pain in the butt for sure. The google adds dont bother me but the spam sure gets annoying.
  3. HEH HEH Probably get beat with numberous fly rods.
  4. I wonder what would happen if a person were take his rod and reel and can of worms into the trophy area and fish for them boney rascals.
  5. Guys if you are upset because I asked about the upper slot there is no need to be. I was just asking because one I thought it was information troutchaser might want to know and second I wasn't really sure so I thought it best to ask.
  6. I also emailed The News Leader. No response yet.
  7. If it is a slot it has to be an upper end too. If the lower is < 12" what is the upper end.
  8. Yeah! What he said.
  9. Maybe we need to petition the government to remove them from the protected species list. I realy cant see why they are on it in the first place.
  10. I went the same route as Dano and I also sent a letter the govenors office and to KY3 informing them of the issue. I plan to send out other letters this afternoon. I know this is kind of a shotgun approach but, hopefully it will get the attention of someone who cares.
  11. I live between Bennett and Springfield. It is about a 40 minute drive from my house to Bennett.
  12. snagged: We should hook up sometime. I dont have a lot of luck catching browns at BS and would like to learn more about it.
  13. I am a fishing junkie so I wouldn't mind being signed up to fish for those Pikeminnows myself. To bad we dont have a bounty on some type of fish here in MO. I can't imagine much of anything that would be better than making a living fishing. Playboy photographer maybe but that would probably get boring after a few years.
  14. Snagged: I think he mistook the OA Designation "Bigmouth Quilback" for your screen name.
  15. Are you planning a trip to MO?
  16. I take it that was a Cure ya or Kill ya type of thing?
  17. This is a 'shuffling' issue I can understand and get behind. My comment to Mike Biggs expressing my concern in this matter has been sent.
  18. I dunno....sounds fishy to me.
  19. ROFL Rob. I agree it seems a waste to kill something for no reason. To bad women dont wear big poofy flowerdy hats like they used to. They could decorate them with 'el grande pollo azul' feathers.
  20. I have seen a few caught but nothing like I expected. I havent seen anymore caught this year than normal. It is my opinion, and I know that doesnt really mean much, that they are not stocking near the trout they were; Browns or Rainbows.
  21. Thats what they say but it is certainly hard to believe that channel cat with their extremely high food to weight conversion ratio would not have been an exceptionally good if not better food source. Getting fish across the ocean back in those days had to be quiet an expensive and lengthy undertaking. In this country we don't and never have done something like that for food. However we do and always have been willing to way over pay for sport. I think if it was really researched it would be found they were introduced for sport not food.
  22. I understand what you are saying Wayne, but with a lack of large and/or natural predators sometimes man has to assume that roll to control species that get out of balance. Besides we hunt deer, rabbits, fox and so on and so on with out killing them out. Why cant it be the same for Herons or anyother species that get so numerous that it becomes a pest.
  23. I am sure the wheels have been well lubricated with Empire $$ bucks so it seems to me like it is time to flex some Tax Payer Muscle.
  24. Porcupine quills. Arent they traditional fish floats?
  25. I am not a 'go-native pundent' who is ready to rip out dams and I am certainly not out to make you mad. I am just curious as to why we here in the US seem to think our fish, music, art, wildlife or whatever isn't good enough. We have some of the greatest fish in the world why do we have to import fish and why do we concern ourselves with what the brits are catching. What is wrong with Bluegill, Walleye, Sauger, Paddle Fish, Flathead, Muskie, Drum, Redhorse, White Sucker, Rainbow, Cut Throat, Steel Head, Small Mouth Bass, and White Bass, just to name a few. And more importantly why do we continually run the risk jeaprodizing our natural fisheries by stocking non-native species.
