  1. You don't need a trout stamp below the bridges in branson but you can't keep trout there if you don't have one. above the bridges you need a stamp to fish.
  2. We used to do the same thing in a nearby cemetary. The grounds keeper would come around in his pickup and by the time he walked down the hill after us we scooted under the fence and on to our bikes. The had some monster bass and bluegill in about a 7 acre lake. They finally gave in and started giving out permits if you signed in at the office.
  3. Working for me on Explorer. Wondered what had happened to it.
  4. Phil, great report and video.
  5. If I were you I would do the Eleven Point in Missouri. There is a forum down in the rivers section that should help. It's a great river, not crowded that time of year and the fishing is great.
  6. Virgil's company made the beetle spin and he sold it to another company. I heard he died a few years ago in his 90's. Back in the early 70's he did a show on Taneycomo and that's why I started coming there. His show was a great show in it's day.
  7. First time I drove through there I thought I had a flat tire and pulled off the road. That strectch is rough as a cob.
  8. Phil, awesome video and pictures. If this was a fishing show it would be the best one on the air.
  9. Don't know, just call or email them and they'll tell you.
  10. If the fish swallows the hook and you don't want to keep it just cut the hook off while the fish is in the water. It won't hurt the fish and will rust away. If you try to get it out you are going to kill the fish. Circle hooks also work but sometimes with power bait they will swallow it. The small egg hooks are cheap enough that you can cut them off. Jigs are always the best option for c and r.
  11. Kramr, sent you a private message.
  12. Phil, did he keep or release the fish?
  13. fishin wrench, I was wondering about that myself. I found some information on galvanic corrosion that operates the same way. I'll check the annode when I get to the boat and see what kind of shape it is in. Also might be my grounding on the motor that is a problem. I called the prop manufacturer and they had never heard of this problem. The guy I talk to at the Mercury plant said something similar to what you said.
  14. Whenever my boat is on Table Rock, Bull Shoals or Taney for a couple days the stainless prop gets coated with a hard gray to the point you can't see any of the stainless. It is so hard you have to bead blast it off. Has anyone else had that problem before and if so what did you do about it.?
  15. State Park Marina has boat rentals. Jons and pontoons. Make a reservation because it will be crowded this weekend.
  16. Cooper Creek has a fishing dock that's not too bad during the week.
  17. WOW with oil spills, the world economic crisis, political turmoil in Washington, war, terrorism, hunger and crime going on it looks like we have another global issue to debate and deal with right here at TR.
  18. I don't know if that is a real good idea with some of the nut jobs that have conceal carry permits. You might shoot paint balls and in return get some holes shot in your boat.
  19. Since I don't know where you are staying I'll keep in general. April 15th is usually the best time for crappie there but this year may be different. Normally hit the timbered coves and fish close to the bank with jig and float. set the float at about 24", 5 to 10 ft off the bank in about 3 to 6 feet of water. We like the narrow coves the best and fish the side banks about 50 to 80 yds from the mouth. If no bite just move a couple feet and keep doing that until you find the fish. 1/16th oz jigs is what we use tipped with nibbles. Hope this helps.
  20. Phil, did you put rollers on the corners of the slips? That is similar to the way I do it but have not slid the boat along the dock as much. Looks like a good technigue and pretty safe especially that no one is standing in the boat.
  21. Phil, that's what all this says:Alberto,le parole significano: spazzola piles, vento punti,la transizione pareti bluff in chunk rock, le transizioni rock chunk in pisello di dimensioni ghiaia e bacini di legare la barca. He didn't know what the Italian translation was.
  22. FC, Alberto has stretched my Italian beyond my capabilities so some of this is translated. I told him that our family was from the Val Colla region near Lugano and prior that that Lake Como. He would like to go trout fishing.
  23. Alberto, si we can go pesca alla trota.
  24. Molto bene signore.....A volte mi comprerà una birra. Addio amico. I'm a little rusty since my trip several years ago but I did pretty good over there. The book, Italian for dummies was big help.
  25. cricket, Io parla and capice umpo Italiano. Probably read it better. I have the reverse dictionary for words I forgot. I learned it to visit relatives in southern Switzerland which is the Italian section. Buon giorno.
