  1. Yeah catching them bass can be a little disapointing sometimes if you're trying to catch walleye. But they are edible up to a certain size. I would like to get into a bunch of whites. I have yet to catch enough fish in 1 trip to have a dinner for the family. It's only been 1 or 2 here or there for snacks, lol.
  2. I did a little fishing out of the kayak yesterday afternoon till evening. I put in at Beaver creek and didn't catch anything after about an hour or so. Then I packed up and went to the Barker Hole and within 1 1/2 hrs of trolling with the kayak I caught a 20 inch walleye and an average white bass. I caught both of them on a grey/white Flicker Shad. PS: DuckyDoty needs to post reports again! LOL
  3. I seen a pile of glass the other day I was down there. It's hard to believe they only broke into 1 rig.
  4. I was hoping to find some crappie and whites also, but didn't catch a single one. I did get a walleye though so that was nice.
  5. It makes me sick when I see someone throw away a walleye without taking those cheeks out. I save them for last when I eat fish and nibble on them for as long as I can make them last, lol.
  6. I thought that also, but my 6 year old wanted to go so we went to Beaver Creek ramp. It was fairly busy, maybe 15 or so rigs parked there but I got unloaded and loaded back up without waiting on anybody or anybody waiting on me at the ramp so that was a plus.
  7. Wow, those were some deep fish. I didn't know white bass would hug the bottom in that deep of water.
  8. I reckon you could wade the pothole anytime of the year you wanted to. Just use caution when the water is high and rolling out of the dam at a high speed.
  9. You ruined my whole life Ducky, wah wah wah!!!! I didn't think you'd post a fake report, but it did cross my mind that is what you were doing after what happened on the other fishing report post. I always take fishing reports with a grain of salt, because bites change by the minute most times anyway. I love reading everyones reports because I get an idea of whether fish are biting, or not biting. I rarely go to a spot because someone said they caught something at a certain spot. Most likely IMO if someone recognizes a location in a photo or knows where the spot is by name, then that person already knows that is a good or bad spot to fish before the fishing report was posted.
  10. I would guess that the reason the 15-20 inch walleye are the best spawners has a lot to do with that they have a LOT bigger portion of the population as opposed to the bigger walleye, and maybe some has to do with age of the fish.
  11. Ha, I guess that's a joke or a jumpstart to a discussion. Walleye are almost never released by bass fishermen.
  12. That's neat to see. I was worried you was gonna say a person was.
  13. It's not like normal, but when i've been floating the local rivers south of Springfield, I've seen quite a few. It would be best to jump shoot em though, so you might not be interested in that type of hunting.
  14. That's a great story, good eating deer you got.
  15. Yeah I'm jealous! I hope there is some elbow room on the bank because I'm a comin down now. Great report.
  16. Very neat. I caught and seen my first one last year at the mouth of Beaver Creek on Bull Shoals. It sure is a shocker to pull it out of the water, wasn't it? And they are extemely slimy also to try and handle.
  17. I thought for sure that was hair slippage. I was wrong. I'd gamble to say that it being piebald like that is a good reason someone might of taken a bad shot at it possibly. Being desperate to get it because of it's unique color.
  18. lol that's not piebald. It's from floating in the water for quite a while and the hair slipping off the skin. It's what happens in the water because the maggots can't get to it.

    Whites

What area? and how deep? if you don't mind telling. I don't need a specific spot, just a general clue would help though. Thanks
  20. I would choose somewhere else if you are wanting walleye and trout.
  21. I've owned both canoes and a jet boat. In my opinion the people in the canoe, kayak, tube, or wading should have the right of way without question. This was more of a tradition, In my opinion(grandfathered in) than jet boats are. They are the craft with the ability to kill or injure people and damage property vs the other people. The people floating are having to put effort into what they are doing and where they're going. A jet boat driver is putting no effort into the activity and just steering and is the reckless one in my opinion. Of all the laws I hear people wanting to impose on others, the banning of jet boats on smaller stretches of rivers makes the most sense. They are dangerous to others on the water. A comparable scenario it letting four wheelers ride as fast as they would like on any bicycle or running trails. It just makes no sense.
  22. Thanks for trying to block off all enjoyment of anyone who floats the Niangua. Let me guess, since you are a new new owner of the property, that you are from a long ways off like the East or West Coast and moved here because you hated where you were and now you wanna change things to make it feel like home again. Thanks.
  23. Somebody floating probably caught it and put it on a stringer, then it died and was spoiled by the time they got back to the ramp so they pitched it.
  24. What size of fishing line are you using?
