  1. I was there this evening kinda hop scotching around to spots. I caught white bass at every spot I stop from the mouth of Swan to the Wheeler Hole to the first riffle in Swan creek on the corner by the road. Phil the walleye have been stacked in there literally by the hundred for a few weeks now. Tonight was the very first night that I didn't see a single one in there after dark. I believe they have moved back out into the lake and are done spawning now for the most part.

Funny, the one on the left looks like she doesn't like touching fish.
  3. It sounds like you need a custom made crappie measure device. Just make sure the warden uses your tape instead of his.
  4. Thanks for the report. It's about time they got up there. Now where are those darn walleye?
  5. Today i went with my son down to Taylor Bridge, then downstream to the first bend. I figured with the water level falling and being post spawn(maybe) on the walleye that I'd try something different than before. We got down there a little before dark. We ended up fishing the chunk rock along the bluff line across the big field from the bridge. We just hammered them till about 8:45 We left with 1 limit, but probably caught 2. Every fish we caught was a sow. I didn't get a single walleye to bite, which was a bummer.
  6. I'd say that the bigger fish of the 2 had the typical case of Lockjaw.
  7. After the report I had yesterday, I had to try today. Me and a buddy went up there and fished below the 215 bridge a little ways. We ended up catching 2 limits and let go at least 20-30 more. For a while it was a fish on every cast, but it slowed down this afternoon. No walleye or crappie.
  8. I had a friend go up to Taylor bridge today and he said people were just slaying the whites up there. He talked to 4 guys in kayaks or canoes who told him they got their limit in 45 mins after putting in.
  9. It's hard to tell with 100 percent accuracy but the females will have obvious bellies on them this time of year. Males hardly ever get real big and if they are they won't have a big belly like a female of the same size.
  10. From my understanding and what I consider the Willow Banks is the stretch of sandy bank downstream of the 76 bridge. Maybe 1/2 mile from the bridge. Coming from Forsyth there is a gravel drive on the right side of the road and it takes you down the the lake. It's about half way from the bridge to the corner at Barker Hole. Directly across from the bluff.
  11. Sorry I forgot that part. I fished there for about 15mins and got jittery about catching NOTHING. So I moved up to the park and fished the first riffle area of Swan and then to the mouth of Swan and only caught 1 white bass and had a walleye get off. I was hoping they had moved up there, but they weren't.
  12. I was at the willow bank last night. I pulled up a little before dark and everybody wash leaving. I talked to a couple guys down there who had the biggest stringers of white bass I've ever saw. Huge whites.
  13. Yeah, I wish I had your problem, lol. I fish Bull Shoals a lot and very rarely get a limit and consider myself lucky if I go home with 1, no matter the size. I wish stockton was closer so I could go up there more often.
  14. I just got in from cleaning fish. I took my kayak and put in at Barker Hole. Got there about 6:30. I paddled down using worms trying to find some bluegill or yellow perch along the bluff to the end without catching any. I switched banks and trolled back with 2 rods out in hopes of getting the the island before dark so I could walleye fish on the gravel. I ended up catching 4 big white bass on the way back without even trying. I was using a silver flicker shad. I got to the island and it was covered in debris farther than I could cast. I should have stayed and caught the whites I guess.
  15. Wow what a nice walleye! It sounds like you had a nice trip. I'm gonna go down tomorrow and try some chubs in Beaver Creek. Hopefully I can find one of those walleye.
  16. Thanks for the advice Josh, but that's my tactic anyway, plus switching it up with soft plastics and purple rogues. I guess I've just had bad luck, cause I've always done well in yrs past. I haven't been in a week so maybe things have gotten better. Thanks for the help.
  17. I wish I could find this honeyhole walleye spot you have, or one similar. I'm having terrible luck this year finding any walleye to catch off the bank. Maybe it's time I switch up a little and try a new spot. Thanks for the report, it's nice to know they are biting still.
  18. Good luck jerk!
  19. That would figure. I go down there and can't even catch one that's 18 inches.
  20. I posted about these last year in hopes of finding someone who had good info on them. I caught a little over 20 of them in one location last year while fishing for bluegills. I've been watching this year in hopes that they return. I believe the higher the water, the better for the yellow perch. As was said on an above post, they like weeds. When I was catching them they were in weeds and preferred those type of spots. After the water level started back down I couldn't find any. I also found that they liked feeding on the bottom mostly instead of with using bobbers. They are the best eating fish I've ever had. They are flaky like a walleye. I used worms for catching them, but small minnows might work as well, I'm not sure. I sure hope they show up again this year, because if they do I will be leaving the white bass alone, lol. Oh and I also keep the little tiny ones to, lol.
  21. I would have to say I would be very happy with catching 2 keeper walleye and another short. I went 7 consecutive days last week and tried many different spots with different techniques and only managed to bring home 1 keeper walleye along with those ugly white bass that everybody loves, lol. I think a morning trip is in order because I've either had bad luck or had bad technique lately. Thanks for posting.
  22. Although there are sporadic whites and crappie around Delaware Town, they are pretty non-existent and not even worth trying to catch in that area. Like was already said, to go down around the Galena area of the James river will be productive when they're there. If you're interested in going that far, I'm sure someone on here will give you detailed instructions on how to drive down there. But just be warned. You will be fishing with lots of other people, because when they're biting, everybody will be there.
  23. Wow, that's a nice catch!
  24. Oh what would you know, lol. You only fish for a living. My will will overcome their instincts. I'm even gonna bring my camera to make a total fool of myself, lol.
  25. The best place to start for whites would be the first shallow riffle coming from the lake into the river. That's where they start to stack up in large amounts. From there they will swim upstream and be in the deeper pools and in the current breaks.
