FW and TB, I was only telling my story. I think the shop I deal with waits until they get a few rods to send back all at once to save everyone on shipping costs (that's probably not a regulation Sage response time). I've never dealt with Sage directly. Although I feel they have always been very good to me. I've had my 5wt since 2000 and they have never questioned me on any warranty issue. In fact if they no longer make the rod I own(albeit broken), I have gotten an upgrade. The folks at Sage have my utmost respect. I do not expect a 5-7 working day turn around, especially if the issue is uh, not exactly fishing related.
Just my opinion. That is all that was asked I believe.... and no, my feelings aren't hurt, I don't have any.
