  1. Nice!
  2. Well, true to my nature -- I went against the grain and ordered the Douglas. Pretty sure I'll add a BVK in the near future for heavier/bigger flies. Thanks for the input guys!
  3. Thanks for the input guys. Keep em coming!
  4. Just to clarify; I'm looking for a decent "all-around" trout rod.
  5. Ready to upgrade from my old cheapie (Redington Crosswater 9' 5#), but not gonna spend more than $350.00. Two that have my attention are the TFO BVK, and the Douglas DXF. Does anyone have experience with either of these? Any other suggestions? Thanks!
  6. I thought about that, but I don't think that's what it is because it doesn't come in contact with anything.
  7. Just bought a new Lamson Liquid fly reel. Here's my question: On the inside of the spool and off to the left side, there's a small plastic appendage about a 1/2 inch long that sticks up. I can't for the life of me figure out what it's for. Is it some sort of a line clip? Any input would be appreciated because it's driving me nuts not knowing what it is. Thanks. Dan-o
  8. That's my "home river" down there fella's. Let's keep it on the lowdown....
  9. The bad news --lack of quality depth on the line of scrimmage is our problem (even on the offensive line). We wear down late against upper tier teams. This is why we started throwing more late in the game (same thing happened at Auburn). The good news -- we're a young team and have already got verbal commits from several 4 star linemen (offensive AND defensive), tight ends, WR's, and a QB. Still need a couple of LBs and safeties. Hog fans are gonna be smiling a lot in a year or 2.
  10. Looks tasty. Nice presentation too!
  11. Might want to check with Shoestring Shoal Resort on the White. They're located just below the Crooked Creek confluence. They might allow you to access the creek from their place for a small fee.
  12. You can make it up there (and further), but it's tricky in places. I should mention also that we use a Shawnee river jon. Not a metal boat. Lots of smallies around that confluence.
  13. Check out Leftover Salmon. They're not exactly "traditional" bluegrass, but amazing musicians nonetheless.
  14. Kiss the mountain air we breath -- Great pics!!

  16. Nice! What lure if you don't mind me asking?
  17. Red/silver zebra midge #20 worked well for me yesterday till they cranked up the generators.

  19. Here's a story my wife Bobbi (smallmouth queen) did on it a few nights ago -- http://nwahomepage.com/fulltext-news?nxd_id=245707
  20. All I had to do to tag my canoe in Arkansas was go to the county assessor's(sp?) office and tell them what I paid for it so it would be included on my personal property taxes. They didn't even ask for a receipt (and yes, I lied about what I paid for it). Dan-o
  21. A FEMALE mtn lion was captured just outside of Tulsa, Ok. a couple of weeks ago. Dan-o
  22. Bobbi and I are glad you guys are alright. Hope to see ya soon. Dan-o
  23. That's correct. Mostly class II/III with a couple of drops pushing class IV at normal levels. It's a really beautiful area but I wouldn't want to hike out of there in these conditions. That's some very steep terrain in there. Glad they got out OK. Dan-o
  24. To my knowledge, there are no outfitters launching boats or running shuttles on that part of the Buffalo. It takes a huge rain to even make that section runnable. They simply overestimated their abilities. Dan-o
