Yeah, what they said, LOL, and a few streamers in the deeper holes. Look back through the Hickory posts and it should cover all of what you'll need to know.
  4. Beautiful fish. I'm ready to get back to Capp's.
  5. Nice fish. I remember back before they got heavy into stocking the creek with trout you could pull smallmouth out of there all day long. I think my biggest would have went 15". I still catch some in the park, but mostly downstream near Shoal Creek. Last year I caught a real nice largemouth out of one hole up near the ballfields. That really surprised me when he hit the midge I was using to catch trout.
  6. I've heard some stories about them washing out thier poultry trucks right there in the parking lot. I know that's not good for the creek or surrounding area. It is too bad for the people getting downsized though.
  7. Good for you. Capp's is and always has been one of my favorite streams. The further downstream you go the wilder it gets. BTW, there have been some pretty good brown trout caught out of there lately too.
  8. Very nice fish there poker. Olliefest is a good time. You'll have to join us this year for sure. I'll try not to break the rules next time. LOL
  9. Welcome back. I'm looking forward to your reports.
  10. They do have some very good looking baits. Since I recently made a verbal commitment to fish more cranks this year, I think I'll have to get a few more.

    Da Who!

It was a much better show than what the Stones put on a couple of years back. Great light show too.
  12. Yeah, the fish weren't overly cooperative for us either, although we did catch fish. Red Zebra midges caught a few for me early. Afternoon I managed 4 more on craclebacks in the C&R zone. Nothing big, but still a pretty good day. We met up with duckydoty and he cooked brats for lunch. Thanks Ducky. We also met Hopper and Wounded One. Nice meeting you all.
  13. I'm not betting, but I would love to see the Saints win it.
  14. Nice fish. Apparently there are a few fish in Hickory.
  15. Chief, KCRIVERRAT, and I are planning on being down there on Sunday. Look us up. I am wondering what the water will be like after all of the rain and snow though?
  16. Just found this free trial offer online this morning. I thought I'd pass it on. I'm going to try to get my wife interested in trying it too. https://www.trysmokerelieffree.com/site/index.php?subid=CD113698#tabs
  17. It sounds like we'll be fishing some of the same waters. I'm looking forward to spring.
  18. Hey poker fisherman, I think I talked to you as I was heading back upstream to the low-water bridge. Hope to see you on the stream again some time.

    Who's Reading What?

I finished "Flags Of Our Fathers" by James Bradley a couple of months back. A great book. I highly recommend it. As far as other stuff, I'm currently reading an old Dean Koontz novel right now, not bad. The man is sort of twisted. Which I like. LOL
  20. Wow that came up on me fast this year. I would like to get down this coming weekend if I can pull it off.
  21. It's just a smaller version of the Bunny Leech. Here's a link http://www.hatchesmagazine.com/page/may2006/176 I tie a few on #8's for some of the smaller streams I fish. Buzz
  22. That's priceless. You know I caught a few that were hanging out right under the banks too. Just outside of the faster water. Not me anyway. At least not this trip.
  23. I hit the creek at about 2:30 and fished until 5:00. There were a few other fishermen up and down the creek, but I didn't notice anyone really slaying the fish. I really wanted to try out my new 3 pc. 5 wt. Okuma Cascade fly rod so I started off flinging a bunny bug in fast water. I had 3 really hard hits in deeper water but I wasn't able to get them stuck. Meanwhile there were a few fish busting the surface, but I couldn't see any sort of hatch so I tied on a Tan Zebra Midge and it was game on. In the next hour I managed to land 7 fish and jumped of at least that many.I moved upstream to a couple of other spots and caught 3 more from a couple of nice fast runs. I finished off the day in the same spot that I started and caught 2 more. Nothing really big, all fish were between 12" and 15" with the biggest being a nicely colored male. I relly enjoyed the new rod. You know how it is when you can just pick up a rod and everything just feels right? Great way to end the month.
  24. Yeah, I got to thinking about that this afternoon. My bad. I'm sure there are some wild fish in Capp's, I just haven't been able to prove it. Except for a few par marked trout caught last year.
