on the no soft no live bait regulations.. i have always wondered.. say you are floating from baptist to say akers or further down.. you are going to want to use plastics on the end of the trip no doubt.. is it legal to have them in the boat just not tied on?? or can you not bring your tackle with you?

for value.. search on ebay to see if you can find one like it... that will give you a really good idea... I sold a 1975 mercury 7.5 on ebay for almost 400 bucks.. it was really clean but still i couldn't beleive it went that much.. i was thinking 200 would have killed it.. -
this one works every time.... heres there recipe hook: size 10 egg hook thread: yellow any size body: large sweet corn one or two kernels instructions... tie the corn to the hook and there ya go .. be sure to stop any wardens and as them if your craftsmanship is good enough to fish the river.. seems like it would catch fish to me

so looks like i may have some fun with the grill after reading some of your comments.. takes my grill and smoker tally up to 8 but who's counting... i was on brinkmann's site and i will for sure have to order me a rotisserie kit and smoke box for it.. one thing i think i will like about it is steaks for one reason... when i cook steaks i get the charcoal super super hot right when i had the steaks i keep the lid open for aboue 2 mins and sear a minute on each side,, then i shut it down and cook and it seems to help hold the juice in more.. gas will give me better temp control for this, what is the secret to keeping them clean.. though about covering the grates with foil before use but then the juices won't cause any good flavor smoke. by the way, i have seen those big green eggs.. arn't they the ones that are lined in GOLD??? heres my grill tally brinkmann side by side large smoker::: great for real wood cooking. hit up a few of the mills around here for their hickory handle scrap.. nice 2x2x48ish scrap perfect for grilling and smoking just cut in half and ready to go. uniflame weber knock off kettle... works almost as good, but wish i would have paid more for the weber brinkmann gas wide upright smoker... works good for pork butt cause of nice temp control, dad said we should get one, i like my side by side 20 times better.. one of the ol faithful 20 dollar cylinder stand up smokers... don't use much anymore cause of my brinkmann side by side, but on holidays when i have about 8 birds to smoke it comes in handy. plus i like the little access doors for adding chips and water one of the little portable green suitcase grills at wally world... has a grate and then a raise rack on the inside.. great for the boat. and a great big 200 or more gallon tank turned into a huge side by side smoker on great big ol fashion wagon wheels is the main grill of the cabin.. just over 1700" of cooking space nice for cooking 20 or 30 pounds of chicken quarters or burgers. my new brinkmann 3 burner ss gas with burner on side.. and i have a one of those little weber kettle mini look alike grills for my other boat.. i have it mounted on a seat pedistal i like it but it is about rusted out and needs to be replaced. all you other grill guys keep the comments comin.. always like to hear of others screts that work great..

wifey made the comment that she would like to learn to grill more but wouldn't cause our great big smoker/grill and 2 little webers are all charcoal grills and she doesn't want to mess with starting a fire... so i did the unthinkable.. i bought a GAS grill it looks pretty, 65"brinkman 3 burner with one side burner, nice stainless steel cabinet underneath, built in tool holders the works, sucker has like 600" of cooking space... my main question... is there anyway to get the smoke taste of charcoal on a gas grill.. i thought of taking the small wood chip box from my dads gas smoker that he doesn't use and setting it on one of the burners for smoke, but not sure if that would work.. any pointers would be appreciated.. i can't live without the taste of charcoal grilled food. i did get some of the ceramic briquettes but i don't think those will make it the same.

1995 up low miles is a big plus.. not to worried about body
-
how exactly do you go snaggin... i have heard it done in small creeks when the suckers go up the creek to spawn but never seen it done for spoons. only heard about it... accidently gigged a spoon bill gigging season.. we were in really deep muddy water, and it looked just like a big buffalo.. i hit it close to the tail and it swam off.. hopefully it lived.. sucker was about 4' long..

hit the slow to still deeper water root wads with worms and minners. caught a total of around 10 or so keeper bluegill and googleye. threw some grubs at slow water rocky banks and actually woke a few smallies up.. non of any size.. largest being 11" didn't try to wake the walleye.. non of the minnows i trapped were big enough. and didn't have my big jigs with me.. nevertheless i had a great time enjoying the spring time weather.. aaaahhhhhh the current never lets me down.. that is why we are moving to our cabin right on the banks.. just another 30 mins further to work but hey, the views are worth it.

on your current river map.. it is directly across from cedar creek. about 2 miles south of gooseneck...

should have came out with me

our cabin is on yellowbank about 14 miles above doniphan.. think i am going to take the little boat out and exercise it this week.. going to get some large minnows, and some worms and do a little slow panfish fishing and maybe some walleye fishin.. (might be too late for walleye) but atleast it will be warm...

SURE IS NICE WEATHER PREDICTED FOR THIS WEEK THAT IS ALL

ok, a couple years ago when i bought the digital camera i have now, (back when 5megapixel were the best) i bought a pentax optio w camera.. it is the one that is waterproof up to 10m or something like that.. well the only problem is it has horrible picture lag.. you hit the button and it takes about 3 seconds before the pic takes even after you semi press the button for the light meter. i am looking for a 5-7ish megapixel digital camera with no pic lag and adjustable exposures.. that is another thing i hate about my pentax, lots and lots of blurry pics due to long exposure time.. so please any reviews you could give would be helpful in helping me find a better cam. not looking to break the bank, just something that when my daughter smiles i can catch it before she looks away.

yeah coming across the large span under the 86 bridge i had to drim way down and pretty much just ride the waves. it was everything my little 90horse etec jet wanted to keep from sucking air. i have it set up for river boating, not the atlantic

i'm just glad i brought my big boat.. cause if i would of had my little upper current river boat, i would have probably gotten sank..there were white caps on the lake front the hard wind.. 4+ foot swells.. not my kind of fishin lol.. i'll be back in a few weeks to try again.

water was like being in the gulf.. cold as crap. one fish miserable. ended up only using the boat stall one out of the 3 nights.. after first day took boat out and parked it.. waste of time this week.. saw next weeks forecast.. not happy

i participated in a thread like this on another forum and it was fun to see all the different setups here is mine.. mainly used on current river, but dips into some of the local lakes and table rock every now and then everything is 2006 blazer ss 18/56 90 evinrude etec 62lb? minkota can't remember, the biggest 12 volt they make so i don't have to lug around 2 batts lowrance x52 depthfinder that i still don't know how to use right what i like about blazers is they do whatever you want.. i regret not getting the rod box, but in the back i have 2 built in coolers with drain plugs.. 3" insulation all the way around.. 12" kicker sub in back with 600watt marine amp, and clarion mids and highs. alpine up in the console cause ya gotta have tunes when your not fishin.
