    What's Cooking?

Headed South tonight. Everyday fresh salsa known as Pico de Gallo and some guacamole made with some of the Pico.
  2. Mark, in the mean time, I will try to post the original articles from my files. The trolling file does not have the pictures of the article but does have the text. White River Walleye on Worm Harnesses.pdf TROLLING FOR WHITE RIVER WALLEYE 2 (Autosaved).pdf
  3. Try the flats on inside bend channel changes. Try steep/deep outside bend channel swings if some sort of cover exists. Post spawn, do not be surprised if they are as shallow as 10 feet. By late August they will be 30 feet deep on the channel edges. The same techniques of which I wrote in articles will work in any semi Southern man made lake. http://www.ozarkanglers.com/white-river-walleye-on-worm-harness/ BTW, Docks that sit on the channel edge will be prime locations for vertical presentations (The cables get in the way of the other methods). Try a white 1 oz War Eagle spoon on 10# braid with 3 to 4 feet of 10# mono joined by a small swivel. That combination twists your line the least. BTW #2, I will put in a message to Phil to ask him to make the links visible again.
  4. Phil, I was trying to post links to my articles on a thread in the Lake of the Ozarks. The guy had asked for some advice. One article, the worm harness, the link existed but with no pictures and strange symbols. The other article about walleye trolling turned up a 404 error message. If it is not too much trouble could you find and fix?

    What's Cooking?

As for last night's dinner, I should have added hominy. My bad. Tonight I roasted marinated chicken wings and part of a potato.I added a bit of broccoli. Made a great meal. Nancy baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies. Does it get any better?

    What's Cooking?

I blanched the green beans to the still a little crisp stage and dumped them in ice water to stop the cooking. Some people might want to cook them a bit longer. I diced the seeded Roma tomato, salted it and let it sit for about an hour. I poured some EVOO in the salad plate, built a little log pile of beans and spooned the tomato concasse over the beans. Then I dotted the oil on the sides with a good Balsamic.

  12. Bushbeater has the right idea. I build my rods too. Look at the link below. In addition to the kit you would need wrap thread, seat epoxy, wrap epoxy, a single edge razor blade, the tube from a ball point pen, a cardboard box, a coffee cup, and a large phone book or a large dictionary https://www.mudhole.com/MHX-Micro-Mag-Taper-Rod-Kits?quantity=1&custcol_blank_model=35&custcol_kit_handle_assembly=7&custcol_kit_guide_set=1&custcol_kit_reel_seat=2 https://www.mudhole.com/MHX-Classic-Drop-Shot-Spinning-Rod-Kit?quantity=1&custcol_guide_frame=492&custcol_blank_model=20 How to videos are all over the internet. It really is easy and here in the mid winter, what else do you have to do? Good luck. .

    What's Cooking?

Not meaning to appear pedantic, but the chefs who taught insisted the protien went 8:00, the starch went 5:00, and the veg went 2:00. Yes! Ness' plating would have pleased them.
  16. It works like this: A line counter measures the number of feet of line going out of the reel. This is based upon the number of revolutions of the spool. Variables exist, of course. How full you fill the spool matters. However, the function works to allow the user to consistently put a bait the same distance behind the boat. That allows the user to control the depth. Metered line does exactly the same thing more accurately. No variables complicate matters. The user can use a bait casting or a spinning reel. In fact the only real criteria for the reel would be that it has a smooth drag.

    What's Cooking?

Yes, but the wife and I are trying to moderate. Instead of gaining 5 pounds per year, we want to lose 5 per year. If you visit, I will make sure you are full.

    Fillet or Not?

You are merely jealous because the results are consistently better. I can't believe a man is so afraid to spend a few dollars. Good heavens, the money it would save him in ruined steaks and the embarrassment it would save him from fire engine arrivals would be worth that much
