  1. Trespass. You say trespass? I'll have you know Bill Babler has given me a pass as far down lake as Big M, and even sometimes Viney Creek. He only really enforces the no fly zone from Cow Ceek down.
  2. I agree about March. I don't know how to fish a jerk bait or where, that leaves me scratching for one here and one there. I fished three baits today and only the crankbait was bit.
  3. While out today I came upon this demolished boat, up on a lift as if it were perfectly fine. I just hope no one was injured while reshaping the thing.
  4. Drove into Rogers early this morning to put the wife on a plane to see her mother. When I got back, I went out. I fished a total of 5 hours with modest success. I landed six, of which 3 would have been barely legal. Three others pulled or shook off, including one that was trying to take all my line from me. I did get her close enough to see the flash. She would have been a good kicker fish. All came on the Rockcrawler in green/red. Fish were on "changes" in bottom in 7 to 10 feet of water. Water temps ranged form 49 in the back of Owl Creek to 52 in the main lake.
  5. I think 10 or 11.
  6. I fished that long curved, wooded bank we fished with the Ned when we fished together. To be in 8 to 12 feet of water to fish parallel to the bank I had to be 8 to 12 feet from the shore line. That is also where I caught the walleye yesterday.
  7. I fished three hours today. No wind. Water temp 53 - 55. Overcast with a sometimes sprinkle. The first hour I was fishless on the Ned. I found that hard to beieve. I switched to a red/dark green Spro Rockcrawler and caught 7 fish that were the twins and cousins of the ones I pictured yesterday. The fish were deeper than yesterday. I was cranking with 8 pound Yozuri and barely digging bottom when I began to catch fish.
  8. I use the magnum wart to reach deep for trolling. It definitely works, although they desperately need a hook upgrade.
  9. dtrs5kprs has a thread in the forum on retrieves. Yesterday a slow move of 6 to 12 inches with a stop and wait of 3 to 5 seconds worked for me.
  10. Jump my thread any time you feel like it. Everyone learns that way.
  11. I like it. I did not side by side compare it to a wart, but I thought it worked well and reached maybe 1 or 2 feet deeper than a wart. It is heavier, making longer casts possible, and that is an advantage cranking. All the fish except the walleye came from less than 10 feet of water, even though I routinely fished out to 15 feet with the Ned. The Rockcrawler fish all "just showed up" while grinding the bait on bottom. BTW, the Rockcrawler is as hang free as the wart while grinding.
  12. I did not go out until the fog lifted at nearly 9:00 AM. I fished at the mouth of the HI marina, Haddock Creek, the bank opposite Fletchers, Stubblefield Branch, and Jolmes Creek. 13 bass in the boat with two squeaker keepers. The rest were between 12 and 14 inches. Four on a Rockcrawler and 9 on a PBJ Ned. Picked up a bonus on the Ned as well. 23 inches:
  13. I am at home on the first day of my Spring Break because the fog is just now beginning to break. Time to go.
  14. You are right. He is a good boat mate. I am glad you got a small pattern going.
  15. Yes. You know. I went to the regionals (think final 64) with both the men and the high school. My hannds, nose, knee, and shoulder know your situation. Fishing is an excellent later in life substitute.
  16. After I finally stopped playing rugby, I coached the men's club in Tulsa - two stints. After that I started a high school club and coached it in two stints. Only those who have coached know the time involved.
  17. If you plan to fish the Ned, gear makes a difference. The good heads are 1/16 and 1/8 ounce. Use the 1/8 ounce only if you are fishing more than 20' deep or the wind is in the teens or higher. Even with a half Zinker, that means you are throwing a 1/4 ounce bait. Most people use spinning gear with 4 or 6 pund mono or flouro to do that. I am a hard head and built a baitcaster rod to accomplish that. If you are interested, follow these links.
  18. 1/4 ounce NuTech jig with black/orange/yellow/red bown/brown/yellow olive/olive deer hair (tied on in that order).
  19. First, the frogs move like they are alive. Second, the salt cure meant they were the first salt saturated bait. Third, they squished like real meat. On spinner baits the last point was not so important. I will try to figure out a way to film a frog in a tank.
  20. While 200 years is a frequent fail point, notable exceptions exist. England's constitutional monarchy is nearing 500 years. The Roman republic was right at 500 years old when Julius Caesar forced a switch to the empire form that lasted another 400+ years. The Ottoman empire reached the ripe age of 1000. Several of the Chinese dynasties made it well past 200. I don't think the "age" is a reason to expect radical change. I think, instead, the key is whether whatever government form it may be can adjust to stress factors without creating an angry group (internal or external) that has the power to takeover.
  21. If you review the entire history of US politics, you will find more than one period of highly partisan behavior and little real action. In each instance some event caused a change to the status quo. Just two examples: 1840 to 1860; 1920 to 1930.
  22. Personal Message dtrs5kprs. He sells via Pay Pal. You won't find better.
  23. Tom Mann go his idea for the Little George from there.
  24. Welcome! The people on this forum love new to the area people. 1. Do some serches in the posts from previous years. I might suggest "April Table Rock", "Spring Table rock", and "spawn Table Rock" as three search terms. I bet you will find several dozens of informative posts. 2. Monitor this forum daily as you get closer to your date. Real people post real information often. 3. If you can stand it, hire a guide for day one - or even a half day - Bill Babler, Don House, Bill Beck, Captain Joe, Pete Wenners are examples of quality guides that will teach the water so that you can enjoy the rest of your trip. 4. dtrs5kprs makes the best Ned heads and search his posts for Ned information. 5. When you are home, post how it went, include pictures, and tell us all what advice helped. Have a great trip
