  7. General reply to several posts. I have caught two at 10 and 13.75 pounds. I saw a 14.5 alive. I have seen mounts ranging from 10 the 15.5. I am sure Rangerman can say the same. Bill Babler has posted multiple pictures of Buster's very large catches. Do I think a 20+ is in Table Rock? Yes. In Bull Shoals? He** yes. As for learning to fish walleye, I urge you to read Rangerman's posts and the articles I have written. You will save yourselves years of learning.

    What's Cooking?

A foil or paper wrap, known as a crutch, is used to help the meat past "the stall" without drying out. If you do not add to the wood or charcoal, the smoke is pretty much done after three hours. If you are using a two chamber and real wood logs, and not their coals, the smoke keeps coming.

    What's Cooking?

Get one set right and they will hold for 10 hours (small size and longer for larger). It only takes one or two times to learn the trick.

    What's Cooking?

So, night I went full bore high brow gourmet snooty. May I show you the ultimate dog? Pan grilled jumbo Hebrew National hot dog served with stone ground mustard on a Hawaiian roll with a side of tabbouleh.
  16. Believe me, I have missed hunting Table Rock walleye. This time of year, in a typical year, the walleye would be beginning to move from the deep water (30 - 35 feet) edges at or near the thermocline to flats. Trolling cranks, either on long line or with leadcore, became more effective for me. On a side note, I have discovered my new lake does have a walleye population. I wonder if there may be an underutilized resource here.

    What's Cooking?

There is a similar setup that on most days sits in Beaver, at the B&B down by the water. Its called Hotbox Pizza, and their pies are wonderful.
  25. Had an Alumacraft tiller (Navigator 165) for six years. I had shoulder surgery and the wife insisted I get a different boat without tiller steer. I have a nice Lund, but I secretly wish I had never sold the Alumacraft.
