  1. Just razzing that you had 2,012 fillets. I meant to add the smilely but forgot. I also forgot to put an ing on guess too.
  2. Boy, that is a hell of a lot of fillets! I am guess you are well over your possession limit.
  3. What deep freeze??
  4. I took it as he doesn't have much if any time in a canoe. Don't you think he should get familiar with the craft before takes it out on his FIRST fishing trip? I don't believe it is laughable advice to suggest he practice in the craft before he takes it out with all of his gear.
  5. Yeah, gets lots of practice in the canoe before you ever take it fishing!
  6. I have used it all my life. Can't say a bad thing about it. Isn't Trilene what they use on those Snoopy rods?? You left out that part yesterday
  7. Ha, yeah. I was just wondering how much difference.
  8. Get out the popcorn!
  9. Just took this pic yesterday. I know, it is a day late for the Friday Foto. Or is it 5 days early? Any way, I have a ton of pics on my phone but was not able to post them to due to size issues. I think I have that fixed. I am posting double to see the difference in the small and medium. Thanks for looking.
  10. I know, I know. Working on it now.
  11. What is a matter with Stren!!!!! Anywho, my question is, why longer casts? My dad taught me the longer cast you make, the more time that fish has to get off. And though there is truth in that, I don't always live by it. But for me a long cast is about 50ft. I would go ahead and get a baitcaster too. My first one was from a yard sale for $10. It is what I learned on. Learned right out in the front yard. I put on a old wore out plug and set the brakes and drag tight. I kept loosening it up as I learned. In about 30 minutes, I had it loose as goose. As far as the accuracy, I could and can fish a spinning just as good as anyone could a baitcaster. It is the fisherman than controls the accruacy. The only thing I couldn't do very well was get under very low hanging limbs, less than 10 inches off the water, as well as a baitcaster. I still carry both with me at all times. But I will say, I don't use the spinng rod as much as I did. Pricing?? I have never given more than $30 for a baitcasting reel. Most have been reconditioned coming from BPS. The ones I am using now I have had for about 4-5 years now. I am about ready to a replacement program on them though. Nothing wrong with them, just getting bored with them.
  12. Thanks Jim, I may have to look into them. I have mine on the wall now. They are in full retirement.
  13. One that is over looked the Ozark Mt. Wood chopper. Originally designed and made in my home town of Carthage by two brothers, they were quickly bought out. I still have some that they gave me from back in the 80's. Wish I would have never taken them out of the box now. They are still made today I think by Luhr Jensen I think. Came in two sizes. Both are really good. I think you can find some on Ebay.
  14. So is politics. But as long as you are beating on the left, you are fine. I remember just a few short years ago threads were locked and even deleted for a lot less than has been said lately.
  15. You are right, it is not all their fault. But when they have thousands of acres of contiguous prairie land and able to work with other entities that had large concentrations of these birds that have continued to decline due to managment practices, then I have no one else to point to.
  16. Sorry about the double post. Didn't think the first one posted.
  17. Here is another shorty on the Prairie Chicken. Alot has been learned since this film was first produced over 50 years ago, yet the PC is almost completely gone from Missouri. I could go into long tirade about the managment or lack of, and the politics of it but I won't.
  18. Here is another shorty about the Prairie Chicken from Charlie Schwartz. A lot has been learned about the PC since this was produced over 50 years ago and sadly nothing of great importance has been done. It has been well over 100 years since the last season, it was closed in 1906, was allowed on PC's because we knew then of the vast decline. Yet we are worse off now then we were. And it is not going to get any better for them.
  19. Daughters like to fish too. Get them out there fella's!
  20. I would love too. But I go west into Okie land. Some day though, I'll meet you on the water.
  21. What a bunch of wimps. I do 350 to 450 a day.
  22. That is not what you said Hannity. You claim there is no poaching of whitetails. But that if as little as ten of them were to be poached then all the resources at the disposal of the MDC would reign down on the accoused. What I said was that you are fool if you think big bucks are not being poached.
  23. Rest assured, there are far more than "10 big whitetails" killed every year in this state. Poached game is big bussiness. Poached smallmouth.....not so much.
