  1. I agree whole heartedly Al. Because of our discusions over the years I have changed some of my thoughts on different issues.
  2. Please, use it all you want Mitch. I'm not embarrassed at all. And while you're at it, please complete the story. Tell Rick how it was the RS bully, Josh I think it was, that I called out for giving grief and calling a 12 year old kid names for asking what is a simple question to us but was all new to him. He went well over the top on that kid. Don't just tell part of the story that you think justifies what you do.
  3. And I dont think everybody thinks Im an A-Hole. Just a few on the east coast. But you know how that goes.
  4. That's too bad Mitch. I was looking forward to fishing with you.
  5. You're right Mitch. I was totally out of line and needed punished. And you are right. I put a heck of a spin on it.
  6. I can't find it right now but do you remember your whole drunken tirade about Pocahontas and the village people and how the little Neosho is only good for kids just starting out bass fishing comments? Probably not. But why is it everybody has to provide evidence but you?
  7. Now we are having a conversation! Personaly I don't think they need any extra protection and I'm not a proponent of any. Never have been. The population is very healthy. I guess what I find odd is that a few select members of the Alliance like to strut around saying my daddy's better than your daddy. Well ok I guess. I thought it was an education and conservation type organization. They weren't speaking on behalf of MSA but, are very vocal members. What effect on populations? Population densities appear to have reamained unchanged. There of course will be up and down years depending on different factors but, as a whole over time remain steady. And I'd argue have increased slightly over the last couple of decades. I can't answer that one. Won't even hazard a guess at this point. I'm just not familiar enough with that system. Uhh ya know, I cant really argue against any of this. Other than to say that they may not see a need to. Populations are good. Populations of >15 inch are satisfactory. The majority of the angling population seems to be satisfied with the current fishing catch rates. Again let me state that I'm not opposed to more restrictive regs. Something along the lines of what I sent you about a year ago. And I have always been for closing the season in Nov. But I would want it across the board for all Black Bass.
  8. There is also a season on bass in streams.
  9. Ditto By the way, what did we say that was so personal and mean?
  10. Just because you say so?
  11. I hope you are right about Mizzou. I can't stand Saban.
  12. What would the ROI be on smallmouth?
  13. That's a point that doesn't get brought up. The state has a few hundred thousand fisherman yet only a hundred or less express an interest in more restictive regs. Yet that is the MDC's fault.
  14. I'm not the one that is pissed. Just because people don't buy into your the sky falling propaganda doesnt mean it's a pissing match. It would be nice if you could actually contribute to the conversation instead of just posting your typical immature Trump one liners.
  15. Did you cook them?
  16. Yeah. Those little ol junky Neosho's. The worthless stepchild of the superior Northern. You'd think members of a Smallmouth Alliance would embrace a relatively rare smallmouth that is only found in a small area of the world. The MDC thinks it's important enough that they are conducting a two year study of them. They are starting the sampling now. But I wouldn't know that because I don't "talk with trained biologists intimately familiar with both how the MDC operates and its management program for stream fisheries".
  17. Canned tamales with a good salsa, hot sauce, and melted cheese are palatable. About twice a year.
  18. I don't want you all to think that I am against more restrictive regulations. I am not opposed to that at all. But I am also not going to conduct myself like a two-year-old with an attitude because I don't get my way. I, in fact wrote in the comment section and turned in a set of regulations that I thought would benefit the resource, the catch and keep fisherman and the catch and release fisherman. And it would have reduced the creel limit. And it got a little discussion. But they ultimately went in a different direction. I am not upset about it and I'm not going to call them names and belittle them. That gets nothing done. It takes much more then a set of restrictive regulations to produce the world-class fishing so eagerly sought. But that is the path of least resistance and that is the one championed by the most vocal here.
  19. I don't think anybody relies on the info coming from the STL7. At least they shouldn't. Not when it comes to conversations such as this.
  20. Exactly!! I thought I was the only one!
  21. It was always 7. But I called it STL5 the first time because it was the FOX show The Five that sowed the seed.
  22. This is the Bingo. Nobody but the STL7 has ever said the MDC's goal is "Maximum Sutsatined Harvest". In fact, MDC data shows that relatively few catch and keep fisherman take a full limit every trip. And those fisherman make fewer trips per year than most people here.
