  1. I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that you side mostly with the republican style of government. And I may be totally wrong and will willing concede my comment if wrong. But I love the point you just made in your post and agree with it 100%! But most conservative republicans are against any government regulation as it is proclaimed as to be the very reason America can not compete in a global market. But as you point out, we are one of if not the safest counties on the planet in those regards. And the reason being, regulation. Am I totally off base?
  2. If nobody here has a job, who buys the product that the part makes?
  3. Forgot to add, KS will send you a packet that contains a map of the state and all Walk in areas with detailed info on each area.
  4. Actually Ron I think the Walk in is a great program and wish MO would do the same. Not sure how well it would work here due to all the leases from out of staters with deep pockets.
  5. Heck if I know. But they think of something everyday. Now there seems to be certain ways to store them. I think I'm going to have to get a humidor to keep my special worms in!
  6. I for one appreciate vey much Ron all the time you have taken to research and post here what is happening. Too bad it's not near as important as the Ned Rig. How sad that a piece of plastic worm on a jig has far more threads and thread pages then what is happening to the very resource they are about to loose. Priorities I guess.
  7. Beautiful dog Ron.
  8. You bet. You should a couple of spots that might give you a little concern but I don't think you will have to get out.
  9. You'll have free sailing.
  10. I had posted to you that it was PETA. And then I thought no, he meant PITA. Because we all know that PETA is really a PITA(Pain In The Asss)
  11. I would but we haven't had a good rain in the last couple of years!
  12. No. They went in the livewell and didn't come out until we either all had our limit or it was time to call it a day so we had time to clean them. Oh man that took forever!
  13. I agree with every word. As I was reading his post I thought back to the days of early spring and the boat loads of crappie we caught. This was in the days of a 30 fish limit and three people to a boat. There was no possible way they were going to stay alive. They got cleaned every evening and put on ice. They didn't get froze until we got home. You could put out a platter of just caught and a platter of Spring crappie and you had no idea which was which. Thanks for posting Randy. But I agree what the Gov calls fresh and what we call fresh is two different worlds. But that is what the corporations wanted.
  14. How far are you wanting to cast? I use a 5ft UL and can get 60ft. If I try, I probably could get 80 or so. But prefer staying in the 25ft range. Remember, the further out you cast, the more chances your fish has to get off before you get him in. And line makes a huge difference in casting too. Braids are far superior in casting ease and distance to any petroleum based lines. I see that Dave stated UL's are too whippy. I won't discount what he states but I will say I have fished UL's for well over 40 years and have never experienced them being whippy. Unless you are trying make a cast that is really farther then what they are really designed for. If you are wanting to make longer cast consistently, a UL may not be what you want.
  15. Where are thinking about hitting?
  16. Agreed. Funny how the real haters made a much bigger deal out of it than you did. Kudos to you.
  17. Keep it up Ness and you'll get a reputation. You already got a check mark from the fellas for your remark over on the dog pile.
  18. That is really a great pic! The low angle of the sun and the long shadows and calm seas just puts a super relaxing feel to it. I would have loved to have been there at that moment to share a beer in your victory of that nice fish!
  19. I think they drained that pond back in October.
  20. I'll be the first to admit that this tread went in a direction that I was not intending. I congratulated him multiple times on the fish and gave a thumbs up on the report. This was not the first time that a member of this forum has acknowledged to a poster that the way in which they are holding a fish can and does do harm to the fish. This is though the first time that the person posting the reference to the less than desirable handling has been dog piled and piled on by those that have admonished fellow members for the exact same circumstance. I will not apologize for mentioning what many think is an inferior method of handling a fish, especially of that size. And I will not go back on my standards of handling fish. Back in my younger days I held fish just like that. Until somebody pointed out to me how stressful it is to the fish. It made perfect sense to me and I changed my habits. I certainly didn't attack the person who was offering a better way of doing the same thing. Call it trolling if you must or nit picking or any other assorted terms you can think of. I highly doubt a troll would have added some insight on less stressful tactics.
  21. Exactly! It's a campfire right now. Don't wait until the forest is ablaze to call 911.
  22. Yep. And all free range deer that have tested positive have all came from the three counties that have deer farms that are contaminated with CWD. No surprises there.
  23. Oh I don't know. We're only in the 3rd day.
