I second what DavidB says. We are there every weekend and it is a tough place to navigate in 15+ mph winds. You could stay at fin and feather That is located on the southern end on the tx side in Hausen Bay. Van Dam caught the majority of his big fish in Pirates Cove on the southern end on the LA side. Bill, are you using a weighted hook on the swimbaits? If so, how heavy of a weight and hook size? I have a hard time matching the hook size and weight size to the swimbait to make it have the best action. Thanks

Sorry I was late to the party, but, if you haven't check out the Kistler Carbon Steel rods, they are very good rods with a good warranty and built in the US. The price point is very affordable for a very nice rod.

Thanks Dave. We all made it home safely, but just as we were leaving happy hollow, there was an incident with a deer and the front bumper of one of the guys brand new truck. Nothing bad for the truck, but probably not good for the deer. That was at 5:00 AM. There was a decent bluff bite when the bluffs had shade.

I would also recommend Joe Joslin. He's a stand-up good Christian fella. I know him well, as we live in the same small town. He's an excellent guide at Toledo and is always on fish. Think of a Bill Babler of the south, except in a Skeeter. Let me know if you need more info. Good luck as the fish are on the move up shallow.

We are renting from Buffalo River Outfitters on Saturday. What are some baits I need to bring with me? Does it fish similar to Table Rock, and do the fish relate to structure like on a regular creek?

Me and my wife are heading up Friday afternoon and we were looking for a place to drive in to pitch a tent on the river and do a day float/ fishing trip on Saturday and be able to go back to our tent for the night. Is this possible to do?if so, which put-in and take out areas would be best for this. We will have to rent a canoe also. Thanks

How deep are yalls lines on your jugs? We do ours down here about 3-4 ft long. Are you throwing them out in shallow coves or out in the deeper water.

We are at happy hollow and have caught over 45 keepers in 4 days. Most on the ultra vibe. Yesterday on pea gravel points. Today on bluffs tx rigged craws. Several 3 and 4 lb sm on the points. Had 1 lm at 4 lbs today on a bluff.
