Just curious if Truman is generating power? They might even have the flood gates open. They have a lot of water headed their way. There is a lot of flooding and very heavy rains to feed the rivers that feed their lake. Is the fishing good?

LOL: I tryed to join a bass tourney and they would not allow me because I only use a canoe and it didn't have a motor or live well I guess a live basket wasn't good enough. I have never tryed again! So where is the bluegill tourney being held and when?

Yep Yep Yep!!! I agree with the both of you.

Dano, thanks and I dont have power piont but windows internet explorer opens it just fine. After viewing I have even more dought to where a large amounts of money has went. JMO

GF I agree with you. I don't want MDC to go away. I am not mad at anyone. We gave it to them for more services I would like to know where these services are. I haven't seen more services with the 1/8 tax or at least not near enough to off set the incress. I for one have not seen but I am told. And some I am told I am not so sure about. JMO

JD Your the one who said that MDC had bought ground from Kerr-McGee Corporation So based on that I assumed that you know what you were talking about. So Did they buy any ground or not! Know one knows do they! Its easy to give or claim credit. So I am finding out that we have MDC and DNR, and the Conservancy? Just how many agances do we need for a few fish and game. I have been told that DNR takes care of our camp grounds, water and Air. So I would only guess that MDC is in charge of just fish and game. And that leaves the Conservancy I would guess property. AM I correct?????

To tell the truth I would rather see a short fish that was deep hooked and dying kept and ate rather than thrown back to die just so a bigger one can be caught to eat. As I see it now there is 2 fish dead and it could have been just one! JMO And I don't think culling should be legal anytime of the year!!!!!!!!!!

GF I can relate to this. In the foundry we had specs we had to mantain and the inports didnt. Another one is in Mexico their Alumium Pop can still use lead seals. And here in the states its a big no no. Makes me wonder about the bear thats inported from Mexico!

GPS in a boat?
jcoberley replied to taxidermist's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
GPS would be a good way to mark a honey hole. But then that takes the fun out of it. I dont see a need for one. If we take less fish then MDC won't have to stock as many and our taxes won't go up! -
John, I seen the news around your area and I was wondering if your ok! If you need a dry place to stay I bet I know a few ppl not to far from you! Moran area and a little north. Try and stay dry friend. Jess

http://www.nature.org/wherewework/northame..._milestones.pdf 2004 The Conservancy announces a goal to conserve places that represent at least 10 percent of every major habitat type on Earth by 2015. HUmmmmm 2006 The Missouri program completes its first land acquisition in the Cerrado, the world’s most biologically rich savanna, located in Brazil. This transaction forges a critical partnership with a private foundation in Brazil and opens the door for future conservation of this important ecosystem. DID I read that right "Brazil" Know we know part of it! "political system at work" JMO Before the 1/8 tax Kerr-McGee Corporation 1991 - The Conservancy launches its Last Great Places initiative, a multinational effort to protect largescale ecosystems by making people part of the solution. The Missouri program purchases 80,819 acres of upland timber tracts in the heart of the Missouri Ozarks from the Kerr-McGee Corporation, retaining areas of high biological diversity. JMO

I can tell you that people all go out and buy inported items paying for it with their own, children, parents, uncle and aunts jobs. Cutting their own lively hood. Greed gets them every time. Folks need to look towards tomorrow and next year and next decade. And if they did they would be a lot of changes in this country!!!!!!!!JMO

Kerr-McGee Corp? If I recall right thats a crude oil company!!! Hummm I wonder just what that cost????????? Well I have called and ask questions and I am always steped around. How about someone else calling and trying to find out just what land they have bought and what inprovements they have made and just when will it open for our use? SORRY IF I AM A BAD BOY FOR ASKING. BUT A PART OF IT IS OR WAS MY MONEY!!!!! As far as fuel taxes and such I didn't think this was the place to debate them. But if you wish I can. Did you kow Kansas has an added tax of 10 cents per gallon for roads? And did you know they wern't using it for that untill a bunch of people started questioning their ways! So lets not even go there. I thought this forum was for the issue of fish and game. Other taxes are another issue. The legislature has tried more than once to raid the MDC money? Well then maybe mind you just maybe they might want to spend it on something productive so that they wouldn't have a large surplus of cash and a lot of things they could cut. And just maybe they could raise the wages a little for the field agents we have out there working the butt off! I am not buying in to the idea that they arn't wasting or giving huge amounts of money. SOrry it just don't add up. JMO

They have made several purchases to compliment the lands they already have??? I know of none. Are they open for use? Where are they located? Was the land donated to them? Or did they over pay for it? I really would like to know. I think their afraid to say. However as tax payers we have the right to know. But getting an to tell and show us is another story. I am starting to think there is something fishy going on. jdmidwest do you work for them?

Most of the time all I catch is short fish!!!!! Thats why I go for gills

GF I would say your right on track. I just want them to show me the property and buildings that have been bought and built with the 1/8 tax. I don't even want to know about when they built Truman or Stockton. I am not talking about all that. I am talking about after they started getting the 1/8 sales tax..................
-
Sorry I was not trying to bring the school in to this it was just a reference there is no connection that I am aware of. GF is correct the tax is on everything sold and resold and so on. I still haven’t seen any posts as to new property that MDC has purchased and if we are getting to use it! As far as land gaining value like gold! Sure the populace keeps growing and thus brings another statement. I hear all the time how a tax has not been increased Well my friends if a small town grows from lets say 1000 people to 5000 people is that not an income of taxes increase? Don’t they get a percentage of taxes from everyone in the city, county state? We have and will keep getting the wool pulled over our eyes. I still think we need a little more show for the money given… More public access points would be nice.

brownieman, I know nothing about them sitting in their truck all day with the air running! I for one have never seen this. Now thth that said I agree with the rest. We can not keep making laws to prevent, or protect or spend, or tax. It has to end sometime. We can not contuniue to keep taxing people and adding usage fee. How can you add a usage fee if it 100% tax funded to build and maintain? Hummm maybe that needs to be placed in the private sector! WOW oh WOW. Not to get off the subject but to just make my case. Our public scools consume huge amounts of money. Private schools for the most part are about 1/3 the cost per child! Hummm hows that whys that. I meen private schools have taxes from city, county, state and federal! Oh and Gas taxes I mean just think about it. Their buildings and land costs come out of their own pockets. Hummm public schools costs come out of OUR pockets. We the people need to start watch doging and voicing our selfs. We need to start standing up for whats right and stop turning our heads. We need to STOP Being GREEDY and thinking of just our selfs and start thinking of tomorrow and our KIDS and Grandkids..... JMO

Hum 114 counties in missouri You say they budget $160M a year. Lets do a little math. 160 \ 144 = Almost 1.5M per county HUmmmm well one BIG eye opener wouldnt you say!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
OH BTW I just want this for the record. I have the upmost respect for our local agents. I am not knocking the in the least. However I am knocking the Managment. They need to learn how to stop patting backs of un mention ppl and worry about other issues that we have hired them for.

Look here boys I know a snow job when I see it. And I know the road to hell is paved with good intentions. As far as air conditioned go's hell I dont care about that! That is not the point here. And what about fishing below the dam at truman? I have seen more then one checking there. I guess we were so bad they had to call in help from other parts HUH!!!!! Come on get real and open your eyes!!!

I notices there was no comment on MCD AND DNR! Looks like one in the same to me. Just a way to mask more revenue. As far as farming. I only had them on my farm one time and I didnt invite them. However they did drive across my fields and kill some crops to get to a creek that some kids were fising on and had an old flat bottom boat no motor and was unregesterd. Didnt cost them however it cost me in the damage that was done.
-
Opps I am glad you brought this up. Ok lets say your right, why do we have a DNR sucking up money. Do we need BOTH? "They have purchased alot of land" Well where is it and what are they doing with it? And did they way over pay for it? I don't think any of the public knows or ever will. As for more enforcement part I think to double it is a bit much! I dont worry about being checked however I am not sure I want to be checked several times a day. Just as I wouldnt want to be checked by the hyway patrol a few times a day. Nothing to hide I just don't want to spend a few hours a day under the spot light....

Has MDC purchased land for us to use? Made inprovments? All I have seen was a decress from 5 trout to 4 plus a raise in the daliy price for a days fishing. And if one gets away from the trout parks the maintence is *poof* gone. Lots and Lots of money wasted ot at least sucked in to a very large blackhole.... JMO

Having lived in MO, Ks, Il, Ky I can say kansas is the worst however I dont think there is and diffrence between the others except the cost. I know Mo has a nice web site but hey the kids and I get tired looking at the same web site day in and out. Web sites are cheep compaired to 4 trout for 3 dollors. I am afriad you are wrong about all other states maybe a road trip is in order. but thats just my thoughts.
