  4. I'll bet you would.
  5. I also realized as I was heading to my car that I had forgotten to re-up my fishing license and trout stamp for this year!! Whoops. I've never done that before. Should be good till the end of the month.
  6. 23",6lps.gold/blk rapala
  7. Thanks Terry,I'm for sure going back. What do you think is my best bet?Short float and fish for smallies and trout......or jump access to access wading?
  8. Thank's CC,I thought so after reading some of the earlier post on the Spring River.......after I posted.I hope this helps after reading your post on the decline of the river....but I only saw two people at each dam and all were very nice and helpful. The river banks needed a little cleaning but nothing I would'nt expect on such low water[comparing it to my home water the Meremac].Friendly people, beautiful river, and I caught fish.I must have picked the right day.
  9. Fished dam1 yesterday caught 10-8""to13" rainbows and 8 tiger muskies 6"-12".Used plastic worms, mister twisters,1/8 jigs.I went thru a few twisters, they kept coming back without tails????Found out later after I hooked my first tiger Went down to dam 3 ........Awesome! Fish did'nt bite there but I seen some nice one's.Very fishy looking stream.Very beautiful.............just can't figure out why people don't pick up their trash in such a beautiful place.I picked up the trash and had to go but man what a spot.
  10. I just got back from the White. If your planning on fishing the dam area by boat, bring one or rent one down river .The state park boat rental is down for renovation till next month.
  11. Man there ain't no way I'd stand chin deep in that water.
  12. Congrat's on your brown.Peach bugger thing Always good to catch them on your own tye's.
  13. ......we want pic's,we want pic's ,we want pic's,.....
  14. Nice pic, Gavin.Good detail and color.Seems like they darken up a little in the Meremac after they have been in there awhile.
  15. Fished the lower lake today.Caught this sporty on a roadrunner over a brush pile in 50ft. on a channel swing..........Sorry .....no offense.....not picking sides......just having fun on a cold day.
  16. Nice....real nice, Ollie.I know how you feel. You know you caught it ,that's all that matters.Big ole hook jaw when the car's acting up.....real nice.Way to get your evens.
  17. Nice pic's Stealthycat.Glad you had a good time with your dad.
  18. Excellent post,Al.Best post I've read in a long time.Liked it so much ,read it twice.Big ozark river "eye's" may be a thing of the past, what a heartbreaker.I'm glad you got to exprience what you have. What a blessing.I caught a small 6"-8" eye in the deep hole with the submerged barge on the Meremec below Pacific a few years ago on a minnow.Maybe a good sign. After reading your post, would'nt think of ever keeping one now.Not that I ever have.Keep up the good word............and faith.
  19. Awesome fish,Larry.I'll guess 16 lps.
  20. Very impressive. You deserve that after 3 months of no fishing Come on tell us a story about that big toothed eye.
  21. Just seen on another forum where a guy say's his buddy caught 6 LPS. at Busch's on 12-22.No pics......?
  22. Well thats bad news. After I insisted he didn't have to send/tie me some flies for the hides....he sent them anyway. After telling him I was getting the better deal....he started adding ammo, hunting time, prepare time to which we both laughed knowing thats a pleasure. He also taught me how to prepare my hides for tanning/fly tying and joked about the way I prepared his.I think some of us knew what a truely great experienced outdoorsmen he was and surely will be missed. My fly rod flys at half mast today and I tip my camo hat to you MTM[moutainman]........anyone want this wood duck.........sorry could'nt resist.
  23. Thanks JS you just reminded me to get my duck hunting waders off the back porch.
  24. Yea,I hope everythings alright too.I once traded Ron 3 red squirrel hides for some of his flies he tied in Montana. Not knowing he was a pro guide and tier.He sent me 30 or 40 of the best flies I'd ever seen with a fly box!He said he was from N.E Arkansas originally and called some guide friends to find out what flies would be good for me and tied them and sent them. What a nice guy.He knew I was a duck hunter and asked if I could get him a Wood Duck for the lemon breast feathers.I told him my next Woody was his........Hope I still owe him that Woody.
