  1. Since I was too slow to make the last one that filled up so fast, I'll pitch in something, yet to be determined. I'll tie something that works in parks as well as most places.
  2. I was glad I could make it again. Good people and good food. Nice meeting new anglers and seeing others again as well. Too bad several others did not make it. Too bad JJ couldn't make it. Wheatenheimer brought him a key chain: I could not believe the water was off. I fished from noon until 2:15 between chutes 1 and 2. Fish were biting good. I brought 15 to the net, biggest about 15". Zebra midges caught the most, copper was the hottest. Caught a couple on small gray scuds as well. It was an excellent way to start the new year.
  3. I just finished wrapping all the gifts and have been taking a break, reflecting about all others in this world and their well being and most importantly of all, the true meaning of Christmas. I hope you all take time to do the same. Merry Christmas everybody,
  4. Congratulations to the Kyles. Glad to hear the good news!
  5. Nice fish Doty. Thanks for the report. I hope I can go sometime soon.
  6. Welcome Tim and Becky. I'll be in there all the time nickeling and diming you to death and lying about my last fishing trip. Don't believe me? Just ask. By the way, Michael Kyle used to give me Respoolin' magazines free of charge because I was a regular customer. I hope we can develop the same special customer relationship where I can still get it as a freebie. Thanks, Your new good friend, Don May
  7. Awesome fish Scott. Congratulations!
  8. Because Carp or Wainwright did not have any weed to bribe the voters? I thing if the Cards would have advanced in the playoffs, The K leader would have been bumped off the top of the vote. At least Wainwright got the golden glove. Thank God Maddox is gone. All three were good but I, like Eric, think ERA means more than K's.
  9. LJ has his diaper off now that he is with a contender. He will be happy for awhile as long as he is with a winner. However, he is 3rd string RB as of now, depending on Benson's hip. New atmosphere's tend to rejuvinate things for awhile. Cedric Benson is a prime example. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, The Chiefs do not have what it takes in an all around running back to be a contender themselves. I smell an aquisition coming up next year. Remember Priest Holmes was the backup RB from the Ravens?
  10. As usual with stuffed jalapenos... and a camera for Tippet's polar bear swim.
  11. The last rumor I heard is that they were simultaneous actions Hope I catch you down there next time.
  12. I am grateful that I got to go. It was a nice day. Nice to meet you guys and see a few others I haven't seen in awhile. Thanks for the biscuits and gravy. Lots of big fish hooked and lots caught. Most of mine (stockers) were picked up nymphing scuds and sowbugs. My friend Greg caught most of his on dry flies.
  13. Good to hear you are still moving your book. I really enjoyed it. I stayed up too late on a work night just to finsih it. Many stories reminded me of myself growing up hunting and fishing in the Ozarks. I related to the story about going the church more than any. Still do.
  14. Congrats! I've not landed one on the fly yet. Not as easy as many think.
  15. Good riddance. Looks like he put his diaper back on after Vermeil left. You and I could have run the ball behind hall of famer pro bowlers like Will Shields and Willy Roaf. The same story every year of preseason, new LJ with a new attitude, then repeat. Some teams are already looking at him like Seattle and Pittsburgh. He might have to beat up on a few women again between KC and wherever he goes. Steven Jackson of STL is a better example of a RB. On a poor team but he suits up and does his best every weekend. The new Chiefs regime has proven that they will not put up with any LJ's again. Too bad they still have to pay the guy.
  16. What you stated seems logical. I just noticed on the Corps charts that O2 levels went above 4 ppm when the gates were shut off. Is it because of where the oxygen gauge is located or because of injection?
  17. Congratulations and thanks for all of the hospitality, advice, fly goods, etc. Best wishes to all of your future endeavors. Keep in touch.
  18. It's been a few months but I'm still here. Don
  19. It happened to me so many times that at one point, when the horn went off as I arrived and shut off my engine, I looked upon myself as a big winner because I had not gone through the effort of gearing up yet. Gloom, despair, and agony on me, Deep dark depression, excessive misery, If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all, Gloom, despair, and agony on me.
  20. That's happened to me more times than I care to think. I buy my supplies from many different sources to where I can not remember what beads from what flies really came from. I usually attribute the lost tungsten to a poor backcast hitting something behind me like a rock on the shore. However, I sometimes wonder if the beads were faulty factory seconds or something like that. Don May
  21. I'm wishing you the best in your recovery. Don
