Interesting post my take is this; 1# you don’t own the land you pay to be on it in our current economic system. “Your” land was there hundreds of thousands if not millions of years and will be there when your bones are fossilized with man long gone! Rules are in place so you or I can’t irreparably change the wildlife ability to inhabit favorable habitats. Some land owners are good stuards some sadly are not. the Amish/Minninite communitys regularly violate game laws, and according to my aquantances in the MDC give them a good deal of of their hard earned $ in fines. no system is perfect and the people in them can make mistakes. One reason information and oversite is required. The push of tracking the people who chase fish and wildlife, is to crack down on felons and dead beat dads who flaunt the judgments (right or wrong) and continue hunt/fish and harvest critters.
  5. Bet you got laughed out of your biology classes at university
  6. For what it’s worth if there had been more paddlefish and bigmouth buffalo, bighead and silver Asian carp would never had an unexploited niche to explode their populations just saying patoowy on all you anti spoonbill people
  7. As someone who has spend many many years fishing around Warsaw, you would be shocked on how much fish gets poached and sold, tons of catfish sold in kc, paddlefish eggs are getting sold on the black market because it’s Lucrative, personally the amount of overharvesting of fish should get you tossed in a cell with big bubba, and supply of dresses he will make you wear, had a few run ins of my own there, fortunately I am a big ol boy and people thought twice about starting chit, that and had other good old boys with me, locals there are tight lipped for good reason

    ZWOL baby!

They need to be 12-17 inches if stocked in existing waters at least that’s what I have read.... don’t think if they get stocked anywhere but a start from scratch small lake, but they have the same issues with muskies

Those fish are being raised in the USA already, Texas is one of nine states looking at brood stock of better strains... English waters run colder than here on average, I think some strains are being looked at from the south of France...Seems like one reason these fish get big is the mature much later than our “feral” fish, ours typically are longer and leaner than these other bloodlines, these fish run 80-90% mirror or scaless fish

Most carp bait smell nice, stinky stuff catches too many catfish! They would be pricy bait, those fish run about 40 bucks each in dollars, fish 20# and over start at 900!!!!
  11. These bids cover a lot, pushes Korda products, but info still valid

  15. Common carp big strong and hard to fool exp when they get big
  16. Yes and they check that pit heavy, was there once when the biologists were there it already has one state record fish but is suggested it will produce 5 records only one of which is a cold water fish 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀!
  17. Shhhhj cats outa the bag now
  18. Not to my knowledge, but the radical left hated us carpets just as much
  19. Pretty sure the peta/SPCA are pushing this trying to take the $ out of the industry, not good
  20. I can see the trend growing. I suspect future “permits” to hold events and be expensive permits to limit the impact of events if any once one state passes it others will adopt similar regs
  21. Not sure but OR is a progressive state, unsure how can ban it with out hard evidence it’s harmful
  22. Be 10 years till we can fish it
