  1. Thinking about giving it a go tomorrow. Has anyone been lately? Just wondering how the bite is right now. Haven't been on Grand since August. Can a guy catch a few on a spinnerbait and crankbait right now?
  2. Nice article...thanks Mike!
  3. What did the MDC say when you spoke with them KC? Given the career path Jeremy has chosen, I'd say he has some good insight as to what goes on around the lake.
  4. Visibility last weekend was around 30ft at Lost Bridge. There' a couple of really neat places to dive if you haven't seen them yet. I'll shoot you a PM with the locations.
  5. Nice spot Jeb! I've been scuba diving down around Lost Bridge lately and have seen some really nice Kentucky's. A couple of weeks ago I came across a school of 3 to 4lb walleye's. They were hanging out in about 30ft of water around structure.
  6. Thanks guys. We usually fish on Wednesdays but won't be able to going forward.
  7. Thanks for the info.
  8. Anyone know if there is a Tuesday night jackpot on Beaver?
  9. Thanks for the report darbwa
  10. Anyone here what the big'un was caught on and what area of the lake?
  11. Did he say what area of the lake he was fishing and what he caught it on?
  12. Nice job buddy! I'd take those topwater fish any day. Same pattern as the other day?
  13. Here's my guess... 7.12 pound largemouth caught on a jig or DD22 up the James River.
  14. It's not chocolate milk but it's pretty dirty. Seen a lot of stuff floating from Blue Springs on down.
  15. Found this on the COE website... Release No: 42-10 Release: Immediately May 6, 2010 Contact: Sean Harper, 479-636-1210 Sean.P.Harper@usace.army.mil CORPS BEGINS LOWERING BEAVER LAKE Rogers, Ark.--The Army Corps of Engineers will begin making releases today at Beaver Lake through the hydropower turbines to bring the lake level down to elevation 1,121.4, the top of the conservation pool. The lake is currently at elevation 1,123.4. The high lake levels were caused by repeated rains during the spring. Owners of docks on Beaver Lake are being advised to move their docks as needed to prevent them from grounding as the lake recedes. Officials also caution anglers downstream from the dam to be extra vigilant because currents will be strong and swift when the larger releases are being made. Officials also advise downstream boat dock owners to ensure their docks are properly secured to withstand high flows. The lake level will drop between one-forth to one-half foot each day. Hydropower generation releases will average about 18 hours per day and continue until the lake falls to elevation 1121.4 feet. Without additional rainfall, releases will continue until May 14. Persons interested in Beaver Lake levels can monitor the Little Rock District’s water management Web page or local news outlets that report daily lake levels. Daily lake information can be obtained on the Internet at www.swl.usace.army.mil and click the "Water Management" button.

  18. Hang in there Mark...I think it sounds like a fun deal! I may try to make it myself if the schedule allows. Any idea on how many folks have already signed up?
  19. Nice Crappie Denjac!
  20. Sent you a PM
  21. I'm kind of curious about the crappie myself. I get to fish with my grandpa on Friday and these days that don't happen enough. We'll have a good time whether their biting or not but it sure would be nice to put a few in the livewell! We did try them a couple weeks ago up Big & Little Indian and we couldn't find them. We weren't using minnows and we fished pretty shallow so maybe we were jumping the gun a little on the shallow bite.
  22. Thanks for the report T-Rock. How did you do in the derby?
  23. I'm sure Gone Fishing can defend himself but what I get from his post is this... "Afternoon of fishing" - could be from 1:00 to 6:30 which would be 5 1/2 hours, which would be plenty of time to throw a variety of baits. "66.2 degree water" - could be that in the very back of Cricket where it ain't no deeper than a mud hole that it's that warm or his graph may be off a degree or two (not his fault) "nice fish coming from the shallows" - without knowing this fisherman a nice fish could be 15" or 16" to him and a good day may be 12 to 15 bass. He never said how big or how many he caught. I enjoy reading how everyone does, guide or not. I just hate to see an honest contributor called out on something because others might not have faired so well. If you got phone calls and PM's over that little post I feel sorry for you. Call me a fool but I didn't see much out of the ordinary. Gone Fishing, I apologize if I've stepped on your toes in anyway.
  24. Do you not believe him Bill? You question the afternoon bite, the choice of baits and the water temps??? I apologize if I'm mistaking a sincere inquiry for sarcasm. Just seems like he's not getting much credit for his efforts...
