  2. Interesting. I like the right angle approach. On a related topic .... It seems that the guys out west tend to use larger thingamabobbers. I typically use the small size around here .... out there I see most of the guys using the medium and even the large sizes. Not sure why. PC
  3. UPDATE .... Items 2 and 4 have SOLD. PC
  4. I was looking on the USGS site. The gauge topped 4 this morning and is on its way down now. Anybody been over there? What does it look like? I bet the Niangua is really moving too. PC

  6. Is that a green iguana? Freaky stuff. Reminds me of the time my buddy caught a 2' alligator in Lake Ontario. PC
  7. That's great news and great service. PC
  8. But I bet you guys would be packin' in the members. LOL PC
  9. ibeenfishing2 .... a couple of times. Welcome .... good to have ya. PC
  10. I just received the fly rod back from St. Croix ..... looks good. No hassles .... pretty quick turnaround. PC
  11. Been on the search for 4 months .... finally hired a head-hunter. The job market sucks. If you look at the public boards .... a lot of those jobs are not real ..... they're dependent on future business or contracts ..... it's tough out there. It would be awesome to get a job in the fishing tackle industry. PC/Mike
  12. I'm all in for either ... Niangua or Current. BM .... Is the bass gear in order for those big browns? I'm like wrench .... we'd love to catch something over 18". Sorry wrench ... speaking for U. PC
  13. A while back I was the recipient of a Fly Logic fly rod in an equipment swap. It's a Model #FLO 905/2; 3 7/16 oz; Line size 5-6; fxlll & IV graphite, made in the USA. I seems to have a medium action to me the only time I cast it. I went to the company website. It seemed OK .... had some decent information. Does anybody have any background on this company? I haven't heard much about them. Anybody have any experience dealing with them or their equipment? PC
  14. Well .... It's been a full 7 days (since receipt @ St. Croix) on the flyrod that's in for warranty service. Nothing heard or received yet. PC
  15. Funny stuff .... For a good time: Set-up a lawn chair (in spring or summer) at the boat ramp and just watch. Set-up an hour after daylight and right at dusk. I have seen many a jack-knifed trailer. Trailers/boats run into docks. Submerged launching vehicles. Major cussings between family members. Boats running into boats. Fisticuffs. Boats running into docks. Gear/keys/cellphones/rods-n-reels/beer coolers overboard. Boats falling off of trailers in parking lots (beached whales). People falling out of boats and off of docks. Wrench .... "boats in coves running in circles with nobody in them" ...... classic! The 3M rule is right-on! It should take no more than that. I have backed many a trailer down a boat ramp for those who seem lost. I have always thought there should be some kind of required training. PC
  16. Nice report and pics. The upper Current is truely an awesome place. Thanks for sharing. PC
  17. Thom ... I live in Paola, KS but spend a lot of time in/around the BSSP area ..... good luck and let us know how you did and what the water conditions are like. PC.
  18. Thom .... it'll be higher than the last time you were down. It's around 2.5 on the gauge .... extremely fishable. Probably a little greenish tinge. Should be good to go. PC
  19. My preferences for tubes: Gitzits in Brown Crawfish/Salt & Pepper and Strike King Bitsy Tubes in Watermelon Copper Craw. I've tried them all .... I always gravitate back to these. Sometimes a white tube can be good if the fish are keyed in on shad or other baitfish. PC
  20. I've got a fly rod in with St. Croix right now. They've had it since Wednesday. We'll see how long it takes. I did the Silver Star Service plan ($20.00). PC
  21. The sliders are just 4" flat tail worms. I usually fish the sliders texas style. Small worm weight and a long shank cricket hook. This has always worked well for me. Salt-n-pepper is my best best color (now they'll all be doing it!!!!). I prefer to fish smaller/skinnier waters. My favorite waters are Flat Creek, the Upper Niangua, and some of the upper Niangua feeder creeks. I'm more of a numbers than a trophy smallie fisherman. PC
  22. I've paired down my arsenal over the years. I mainly only wade and canoe fish for smallies in smaller streams and headwaters on some of the larger rivers. PC
  23. 1. Cheesman Canyon section on the South Platte, CO 2. William's Fork River, CO (Thanks to FFM) 3. Naples Creek, NY (during any April) PC
