  1. My best fishing buddy (Matt my son) and I got down to M.S.P. this morning to slightly higher and swifter waters. Visibility was 1.5 ft to 2 ft deep, which made finding the lunkers difficult, but not impossible. We were walking and looking when I spotted this nice male in his feeding lane munching on passing by bugs. Matt went to work on him, switching flies till he found what the male rainbow wanted, one of our "secret eggs" on 7X tippet! So the chase was on! The fish ran across and back, down deep, and had us running down stream to stay with him. I love chasing big fish! I finally saw my chance, and with a careful hand I netted this fish for my son and we high fived on the stream bank. A quick length and girth measurement, and a couple quick shots for the camera, we made sure to take time to fully revive the fish before sending back to a good place of hiding. 22-1/2" L X 12-!/2" G Nice job son! on 7X! The water was so cloudy that we were only able to find two that were real lunkers. The fish pictured, and the other one which is much bigger, and very spooky. Hopefully in the weeks to come the water will clear up, and more of the toads will show.
  2. Bill, Thank you for posting what you saw. I have seen the same thing.

Eggs, scuds, and a size #18 midge. The fish are leader shy even in this cloudy water, so keep the 7X handy. A special shout out to fellow O.A. member JJ Troutbum, who was also fishing with his Dad today. It was a pleasure to meet you, and your Dad streamside. 22-1/2" L X 12-!/2" G Nice job son! on 7X!
  4. Here's a report .My son Matt and I were at the park today. We saw two nice ones, Matt was able to bring this male to hand. Full fishing report to follow.

  6. My dad started taking me to Tanneycomo in 1964, 45 years ago.
  7. The park has had a couple "goof ups" this year. First thousands of fingerlings get loose, now a bunch of dead lunkers.

  13. I almost bought the farm in that creek myself, years ago. It was flash flooding and I had a tube with me. So being the adrenalin junkie I was at the time, I jumped in with my tube! Shot the flash flooding creek until I was flipped out of the tube. I got my foot caught deep in some of the boulders, and was instantly pulled under. I was lucky to be able to pull myself free, I only had seconds with the force of the water rushing around me.
  14. Where's Buster's log? The River Pro skid plate's been looking for some logs to play with. The right ones. Jets are cool at Taney. fireman, Be careful if you decide to follow someone up past Fall Creek, if they're running a jet, you will get in trouble. Although there aren't many that could keep Gatorjets Gator in sight.
  15. I would like to do that lunker a favor and get that hook out of the poor guy since he broke someone off.
  16. Dano, Thanks for the report. Wonder what the story is with those fingerlings. Sombody must have goofed. The Eight pounder, was it a Rainbow or Brown? Regards, Bman

  22. Phil, Will you have to take the boats out of your Marina when the gates are running? Just wondering if we can use your stalls with gates open.
  23. I was fishing from the boat today with my son Matt. WE both caught several Rainbows with the orange/red slashes on the undersides, white tips on their fins.
