Bredman, Welcome and we expect atleast 2 to 3 posting a day just to catch up with the big guns on the site, and I ain't one of them. Later, FFM

Triz, Here is a quick answer for you. Flies must be single hook and constructed of any material (except soft plastic, natural or scented bait) that is tied, glued or otherwise permanently attached. Flies may be fished with or without a spinner. Barbless hooks are not required, but if using a hook with a barb, mashing it flat makes releasing fish easier and quicker. But I have a follow up question as well: At MSSP are you allowed to fish all 7 days of the week, unlike BSSP, MSP and RR where it is Friday - Monday? Later, FFM

Phil, I was going to post those same photos, last week after I got them in an E-mail. But I held back thinking it was not appropriate, but now I know better. That is some funny stuff I must say. Later, FFM

When I read Jerey's report yesterday, I have to say I did not see any names or exact location on where the reports he read came from. So I don't see anybody getting called out. If this did occur a good old is in order. (Dano, thanks for that gif files a few weeks ago) Later, FFM

Great report JD. That is one nice looking brown. Lucky you for being able to get out. Later, FFM

I wondered about some with drag chains. Since the chain touches the rocky stream bed, doesn't it do damage? Also in places like Taney, the chain appears like it would do some type of "chummin", just like "schufflin". So would the the trout be feeding in the path just created by the chain? Thanks, FFM

It appears our good man Brittnbirds is trying to get himself some "Pro Bono" action at the expense of the "want-to-be" guide (the identity of the want-to-be guide will be keep secret to protect the innocent). I'm just trying to think how I can scheme my way into this as well... later, FFM

I thought some of the rooms were open during the winter season. You just did not get daily service. I think I a few years back stay in one during catch and release season, heck I think the hot water heater did not even work. It was the year they had the store in the other building while remodeling was done to the current store. What year was that anyway 2004? Later, FFM

How Many Forum Members Does It Take To Change A Light Bulb?

Cricket, I'm guessing sales are slow today. later, FFM -
Glad to hear your trip was good. Why didn't you try Eagle Park since the campground was full? I did not see any mention of using Buckskins during the Trico hatch. That is always a killer. After the park the second big left corner, "the Rock Garden" did you make it down there? As for the Trico hatch in CO. That was the "Dream Stream" at Spinney that you were swallowing all those Trico on every breath whenever there was a wind direction change. later, FFM

Thom, You asked about how to fish the riffle area (also know as the High Bank area) below the bridge. Here is one example link on this form that details some of the better flies to use in that area. http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?s...=13461&st=0 There is more info on this site if you search the BSSP, use the search word "Flies". That will give you about an hour or more worth of reading. Later, FFM

MOBass, Here are a few carp pictures for you. The National Geographic channel is going to be airing a new show telling stories of some large fish that have been caught, including this, the world's largest carp. It sounds like a pretty cool show. See this link: The Nat Geo - Hooked Later, FFM

Bman, Just wondering if you have every walked along the stream above the auto bridge, just to look at hte fish up there? The last time was down there, I took a lookies and I have to say this would very a very nice C&R area for MSP (something that is needed). Has the James Foundation and/or MDC been asked in the past to open this section up for C&R? Later, FFM

13 Lb Brown Landed Oct 1 @bssp
flyfishmaster replied to flyfishmaster's topic in Bennett Springs State Park
Laker67 & fishinwrench, Thanks for the updates. I was not trying to accuse anybody of any wrong doing I just saw the line in the article that indicated he "tied" it. So instantly in my mind I thought it was permanently attached to a hook. So that now has my pea brain thinking... how can I make some soft plastic baits that I can slide on a hook that look like the flies I normally tie. And finally congrats to Jack again. Later, FFM -
13 Lb Brown Landed Oct 1 @bssp
flyfishmaster replied to flyfishmaster's topic in Bennett Springs State Park
JJ, So according to these statement: " Soft plastic bait (unscented)—Synthetic eggs, synthetic worms, synthetic grubs and soft plastic lures." & "(D ) Fly—An artificial lure constructed on a single-point hook, using any material except soft plastic bait and natural and scented bait as defined in (A) or (B ) above, that is tied, glued or otherwise permanently attached.." Jack was using a "Fly" because it was "permanently" attached. So he was illegally fishing in Z3 when he caught this fish. Am I correct or am I reading the regulations wrong? Later, FFM -
I saw this story on Weavers Site: Weavers Fishing Report Shown above is Jack Buchschacher with the 13# brown he caught on October 1 (see "Our Previous Report" below for more details). The fish was caught in Zone 3 on a yellow soft plastic scud imitation that he ties himself. We did not have a picture or information on what was used to catch the lunker brown in our last report, so that's the rest of the story. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Congrats to Jack on catching/landing this nice fish. As you can see in the info he used soft plactic. So here is my question: Since Zone 3 is Natural bait and Plactics, is "Foam" legal in Z3? If so, does that make a fly like the a Foam Bettle legal, since it is make out of foam and thread only? Later, FFM

trevor, Here are a few sites to look at: JS Fly Fishing - Hare Line Glue sticks Wapsi Fly - Glue Sticks Also, if possible get two or three of the mini glu guns. It will save on wasting glue when changing colors. Later, FFM
