It's Just a Catfish! For all those crazy guys who go 'noodling' for catfish and stick their arms down the fish's throat!! This would be 'all the catfish you can eat', Each year, a few people were drowning or disappearing mysteriously in Huadu's Furong Reservoir. It was not until recently, when the son of a government official went swimming, in the reservoir and was drowned, that the secret was revealed. It is a 3 meter long man-eating catfish whose head alone is 1 meter wide! After cutting up the catfish, people were surprised to find the remains of another man inside! Swimming in the reservoir is now forbidden because it is feared another similar man-eating catfish is still lurking in the waters.

Bet if you caught a potential world record you would try to get it, native waters or not. I sure would. This guy did beet the record by 1 or 2 ounces but you have to beet it by more than that to count as a new record.

I agree, the best place to eat at Fork (at least back in the '90's). I lived in Dallas and fished Fork a lot. Every where around Fork is usualy full Feb. March and April. If you get a 10 plus pounder Lake Fork Taxidermy Makes excelent replicas. They have won all kinds of awards and made the big fish thing for Rojas in the 90's. I am very happy with the one they did for me. Not cheap but worth it.

Thats why I will never buy new. They are out of my price range by far. If you look around you can find good deals on good boats.

My goals are to fish more, take my daughter fishing a little more often, learn more about my electronics and learn how to fish deep structure better.

Thanks guys! I will take these into consideration. I have read reviews but wanted to hear from some real people. Thanks

I am looking to get a Wii fishing game as a gift for some one. Which one is best or if you have one do you like it? Which one is it? Is it worth it? Would you recomend it? Pros and cons? I would appreciate any feed back I can get. Thanks!

Fished the Kings with a buddy. Not much happened. Took out and put in at Viney. Drop shotted points at mouths of coves in about 20 to 30 ft. caught some nice keeper k's and some lms. Had about 8 keepers total and quite a few smaller ones. Also fished a jig down the banks some and caught some smaller ones out about 10 to 15 ft of water.

I worked it last time they were here. They do use a release boat (pontoon) that has two huge ariated tanks. I believe they use stress reducers in thier tanks and they work with the floters that have the bends. They release them in the lake and they put a metal basket over them that is open at the bottom and attached to a rope. They let it drop down slowly, when they see bubles come the fish is ready to go and lift the basket up. Better than poking a hole in them with a needle with more chance of them getting an infection. Thier mortality rate is actually quite low. If I am not mistaken I think it is lower than BASS.

Fished Sunday. Didn't drag myself out of bed early enough for the top water bite but fished a spinner bait -- nothing, crank bait-- nothing. Jig -- did OK, had three or four. TX rig worm -- did real well with nubers and had 2 keepers. Fished in about 3 to twelve ft. Fished DS for a while and cought several--all short. The bite was light untill the cloud cover started rolling in over us.

Glad to hear husbands letting thier wifes learn how to back the trailer and all that good stuff. I have seen too many guys not have the patience or when they let them try they wind up skreeming and yelling at the wife, wich in turn makes her nervouse and ruins the whole learning thing. WAY TO GO GUYS. I COMEND YOU FOR THIS!

Thanks for your input Vacation. I'll give it a whirl. Wish I could get out more often but once a month or month and a half seems to be it.

techo, I have a golden rule, from when I lived in Texas, that measures up to 24 inches if you need to borrow it for next time you take your wife out fishing. Becky

Going out Sunday early to try for a buz bait bite. Then switch to crank and jig. putting in at Holliday Island or Eagle Rock. Any other suggestions. Sounds like it has been kind of tuff out there lately. Becky

We know how you guys measure, just don't say a whole lot because we know its an ego thing you can't live with out. Becky

Fished out of Eagle Rock yesterday. Got on the water about 11. Thew the buzz bait till the sun come out. Cought 4 in about 20 minutes with a couple of barely keepers. swithced to the blade cought quite a few with one keeper LM. Thew a tx worm and a jig and cought some more shorts. I was fishing the flooded brush and the slop at run offs. Saw a couple of eagles and an osprey. Good day for me - havent had a chance to get out in a while. Becky B

I opened a post by Flipper about fishing the Joe Bald area and was surprised to see some JERK tacked on some nasty porn crap. It is very offensive to me. I know it wasn't any of the regulars. This Ken Tosh...what ever needs to have the law catch up with his sick brain. Becky Burt

Sunday I was up on TR. I put in at viney, fished down river some and caught a bunch drop shotting. Nothing big. Lots of boat trafic. Went up by Roring River, not neer as much boat trafic, caught a few and a couple keepers. Headed back to Viney ramp and as I came around the bend at Big M boats were just sitting in the water. A water patrol was slowing every one down. An ambulance and fire truck was on the bank and another patrol boat was there. I idled over to a pontoon boat and asked what happened. They said a guy on a jet ski had gotten hit by a boat. About 10 minutes later a helicopter came in and flew him out. I have watched the news and haven't heard anything obout it. I hope the guy is o.k. It doesn't surprise me. There were three jet skis in that area cris crossing wakes and buzing every where. I don't know if it was one of them or not. Are there any laws about how close to a boat a jet ski can get? It might not have even been the jet skiers fault seeing the way some of the boats were being handled. Some people act like they are the only ones on the lake. Becky

The slot has worked great in Texas. Depending on the lake and fish population they decide what the slot will be for that lake. When I lived there the slot for Fork was 16" to 24". Others were 14" to 20" and yet others just had a minimum lenth, some 16" others 18". Some folks won't fish tourneys on a slot lake like Fork because they can't weigh in half (or more) the fish they catch. Thats where paper tournaments come in. My club fished them all the time. If we caught them over or under the slot we could bring them in otherwise they had to be on paper and verified by the non-boater. It worked great.

They had beaver flood gates open today for a whilel. Wish I could have seen it. I don't know how high the dam is on Table Rock but I know Beaver is over 200 ft. That would look pretty impressive. Also the Kings is as high as I've ever seen it but then I'm a relative new comer here.

I fished up Roaring River Saturday with a friend. Temps were 39 and 40 with very stained water. The wind made it dificult at times but we managed 4 bass and 1 walleye. 1 bass on a wart the rest on a jerk. The bass were decent and the toothy one made it to the fry pan.

Thanks. I'll keep my eyes open for info when the time comes.

Back in November or early December there was talk about possibly having an electronics seminar. Has any one been working on getting one together? Any one know anything? I sure am interested in attending. Becky B
