  1. did hear about a Gambler boat that lost his outboard in about 75ft of water....
  2. I'd have to agree. makes you just shake your head.
  3. They're everywhere for the BBB. You really have to be prepared going into it to deal with d!cks. We did ok. Fished up the little niangua on sat. And up the big niangua on Sunday. No real bad traffic to speak of. It was kind of nice. Sat. Caught a lot of fish but mostly shorts. Had one good 5+ class fish come off right at the boat just before the net got there. Made me sick. Sunday had less fish but much better quality. Would have had a 16lb limit probably. Weighed a 4.46 for 24th one weigh in and won my entry back. Tried for a 3 even and came up short at 2.83.
  4. Are there any good ramps from about 4 corners up to around maybe 45mm? preferrably no fee but not necessary
  5. The thing about up river though is that is takes much less traffic to screw those fish up. So even if it is less busy, it is still more than the norm and those fish know.
  6. Rick Fishback and Chuck Knight won. Sounds like bite was tough though
  7. I normally fish it every year and try to fish both spring and fall. Here is what I have found. 1. Take all strategy and throw it in the trash can. There really isn't any patterning. Hard to pattern 6lbers. Just have to keep fishing what you think are high percentage areas. This isn't your normal event. Even if LOZ is 55K acres, 2000-3000 anglers changes any "normal" patterns. I start shallow, but with full understanding the the longer into the day/weekend you will not be the only one throwing to that shallow water. I think fish will be in all 3 depths during this time of year. 2. Beginning the fall transition, fish will be all over the place. 3. Fall = cover water. Even in "normal" conditions this is the norm in early fall at LOZ. Or at least in my experience. cover water. 4. I like both. The company is always nice, but I like to try crazy things sometimes and boat control is not as bug a factor by yourself (making sure partner has good water) 5. Fall = you can catch fish on multiple tech. so I say both. Fish multiple techniques that you have confidence in. 6. BBB = you will be fishing behind others. from dam to dam. Less up the river, but I think those fish are also easier to spook. It doesn't take much extra pressure to put those fish on lockjaw. 7. Keep track of online updates and check weights. If it will get me a check I will wait in line if that timeframes weights are low. but I won't run to the weigh in right away with a 3 or 4 lber. I would weigh a 5+ regardless I think 8. Not sure it will matter much. the fish will be on high alert more from all the traffic and pressure IMO. Great Discussion questions!!
  8. 254 cafe for sure but we also liked Lucky's
  9. Why prefish? It really doesn't take a pattern. How do you pattern one big bite and account for 3000 people fishing with you. Lol.
  10. ouch. feel for you. hopefully your insurance can help you out.
  11. as far as guide is concerned, look up Jack Uxa at Jack's Guide Service. Great for all species and ages.
  12. I will be there. Hate fishing it but hate not to. I won $15K+ one year at it so know it is possible to get lucky. As of now, just rolling solo
  13. They fished out of PA he tsi and Coffman. Twice a piece. Looking forward to watching in January. Basil Bacon was one of the founders of our club in Rolla. Central Missouri Bassmasters.(CEMO)
  14. Thanks guys.
  15. what is visibility and water temp like?
  16. Coming to Pomme this weekend. What are the water conditions like? I was there on Easter and fished the dam area and it was really dirty. Has it cleared up much? What about up the Lindley? or the Pomme?
  17. I have one I won. tested it in my pond. nice action and bait. when will this style bait become productive?
  18. Cold cold windy and cold. Got on the water at about 130 til about 5 pm. Had 5 bites and 5 keepers that would have been about 15 or 16 lbs. Water is really dirty maybe 1ft visibility tops by tje dam. Didn't fish but 1 mile from the dam. Fish came on wiggle wart and jig in 3-6 ft of water. Water temp was about 49-50 where I was at.
  19. If not Coffman what ramp u talking about?
  20. how is the bite though? tough, consistent? good fish? etc.
  21. Going fishing early next week and more than likely going to LOZ as it seems to be fishing well. However, I am thinking of heading to Pomme to open up the camper and possibly just fish while I am there. Hevent heard much though
  22. Had a buddy say the wind was brutal but they caught fish. Nice ones too.
  23. There was a Leavenworth club deal out of schooner on sunday. Had a BBC guy fish the rally then fish it.
  24. thanks. gonna head either there or pomme this weekend. Trying to decide. would be nice to get an idea on whats going on for a productive day. sounds like LOZ is pretty hot right now
  25. What is the predominant bite/bait/pattern right now?
