Norfork is still Chocolate milk and full of debris and logs.Not safe to run unless you are a BassCater(not).Fish will be scatted and suspended in the very deep clear water.If you have to go out in this mess.try fishing a spoon very deep.Also keep a eye on your motor to make sure there is water coming out of the pee hole.Also avoid having to back up.Wear your life jacket at all times while on the big motor.Some of the big logs have been in the water long enough to start to sink and may just be a few inches under the water where you cant see them and if you hit one of them at 60mph you might just find your motor in the front of the boat with the prop chewing up your boat or you.This is not the time go fishing at least give the lake another week or 2 for safety sake.There will be lots of great fishing days ahead with all the water in the lakes.Should also be a great spawning year that will produce great fishing for years to come.

I don't see how they can release water for awhile.I had to go to Little Rock today and the flooding at Batesville was real bad right up to the 167 road in town buildings flooded.I cant see them releasing water with that kind of flooding down stream.I am afraid that it will take about 2 weeks for lake Norfork to recover.I HOPE.The lake is very dangerous will all of the wood and logs in the water .I wouldn't put my boat in there.

They are talking 12 ft rise when its over.I am afraid that the water will be muddy and the fish will be scatted.I would hold off for another week if you can but if you are coming for the BassCats its more than just the fishing.If its a fun trip save your gas its going to take awhile to recover.

Norfork Lake has come up 7ft in the last 24hrs still on the rise and still raining. Anyone planing on coming here this weekend to pre fish for the BassCats may as well stay home.The lake is a blow out.

I have a Teton trinity #4 large arbor fly reel with a wf4wt fly line and oramge backing.I only use this 4 times before I took a fall on the McCloud river in No.Calif.and injured my back now I am a bass fisherman.I had this reel on a beautifull custom bamboo fly rod that I sold on ebay.The line is a olive color special small Dia,line for small stream rods and bamboo rods.I cant remember the line maker and since I moved I cant find the box it came in but I do have the Teton box.This is a fine little reel in new condition.I am asking $50 plus $6.50 for shipping SOLD

I am wondering if we are going to have a early spring even as cold as it is now.We are getting birds into our feeders that we dont normaly see until spring.That sure would be nice for spring fishing.

With tournament rules that say a angler can not leave a boat durning the tournament.It does create a problem with restroom calls.

In the old days bass boats had livewells in the front of the the boats but they found that the extra weight in the front of the boat and the pounding the livewell took was to hard on the fish. That is why they moved it to the rear.That extra weight up front could cause a problem in rough weather.Just something to think about.

As long as anglers a willing to spend that kind of money for tackle and boats.They will continue to raise prices every year until people stop buying.They are testing us.Look at BPS rods they have them made in China for less than $5 a rod.Unfortunately anglers are willing to pay way more for something than it is worth I see it all the time on Ebay people biding way more for something than what it cost at WalMart. As long as we are willing to continue this trend they will continue to raise the prices.This will soon be a rich mans sport.Take a look at the cost involved in fishing a tournment. entry fee 100-200 per person gas truck 2 days of prefish 1 day tourny 100+ gas boat 2 days of prefish 1 day of tourny 80-100+ oil for three days 15-20 terminal tackle 20-100 line for 1 tourny 30-60 extra stuff that you buy couse you think your gonna need it 100+ food drinks,eats,smokes? for three days 50+ now for the good part figure in the cost of a truck payment and ins boat payment and ins for a month wear and tear on truck and boat (tires)oil changes,and car wash lodging if needed for 3 days 150 WHY BECAUSE We are addicts and they are feeding our addiction.

I did real well on Norfork Saturday.You may have been fishing for inactive fish in to deep a water.Yesterday I think the feeding, active fish moved shallower 10' to 20'to feed up on craws before inbound storm front.All the fish I caught Saturday hit a watermelon/red baby brush hog on a very slow retrieve with very aggressive shaking.On Friday the bass were chasing bait fish and hitting jerkbaits for some reason (must have been the storm coming)The active fish were now feeding on crawdads. Wow,The bass really put on the feed bag for a while this morning.Started out this morning at 7am throwing a jerkbait with no takers about 7:45 I picked up my worm rod with a baby brush hog and starting catching fish hot and heavy until just after 10am then it just shut down.All total 18 bass almost all overs including one nice Smallmouth about 3 1/2 - 4 lbs.I had many fish 0n that I just couldn't get a good hook set on and they would come unbuckled due to the wind.Its 11:20 and back at the house not bad for 4 hrs of fishing.The only boat I seen all morning looked like a black BassCat that pulled into Walkers Hollow as I was leaving.

Fished yesterday morning for 2 hours before my DR. appointment.6 fish 1 under 5 overs casting pointer 100 to bass busting baitfish in Walker hollow.
