  1. Twas a beautiful day indeed.
  2. Sounds like a fun morining. Thanks for the report!
  3. But if you wear it concealed, you deny the rest of us the comedic value of seeing you parade around in it!
  4. LOL, far be it from me to open that can of worms. But I also will not even pretend that I could remain silent should such a thread exist.
  5. The new Z-3 works great on a dropshot.
  6. Stump, I did not take your post as insulting at all and I doubt anyone else did either. Was just pointing out that it was Bryan and not the AGFC who chose to introduce it in the way he did. Actually, it seemed like a "reach" to me to link what the AGFC plans to do with professional tournament fishing. Frankly, it wouldn't bother me to see FLW take their "show" elsewhere either. I don't care for what passes as "fish care" during the weigh-in process and there's just too much rudeness and entitlement from many of the competitors. I was one of the biggest fans of pro tournament fishing who ever walked back in my 20s and 30s but I've seen too much change. Both major circuits now are far more about a dog and pony show than about fishing. I do enjoy when a guy like Steve Kennedy -Da-- who by choice buys his own boat and whose only sponsors (again, by choice) are one lure company and one rod company --- wins because he doesn't play the silly games like Iaconelli and the other camera hogs. Besides, with General Mills pulling out of FLW and a bunch of their top anglers (Powroznik and David Walker to name two) jumping over to BASS, there's plenty of conjecture going around that Walmart may be about to pull the plug (again) on FLW. Not saying it's so, but there's a lot of talk about it. So it may not be long until they are gone from Beaver.
  7. In fairness to the AGFC, this article was written by and published in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. I worked with Bryan Hendricks there for quite a few years. It was Bryan who chose to approach the subject from the standpoint of how many BASS/FLW pros the state has produced in recent years. The thing is, I don't know what the AGFC can do about helping educate and improve the life of the 12-year-old with a Zebco or a single-shot rifle. I think that falls upon the parents/grandparents, and therein lies the root of the problem. Just my opinion.
  8. Ryan, you are right. I shouldn't have generalized or made a blanket indictment of all young fishermen. Rudeness and lack of sportsmanship happen across all age groups, and so does good behavior. But I think we can all agree that no matter the offenders' age, there's a lot more of the entitled, self-serving bullcrap going on out there than there used to be. For the record, I am far from anti-tournament. I've successfully fished derbies from club level up to BASS Opens for 35 years. I'm just very disappointed that a growing number of tournament anglers are engaging in behavior like cutting off other fishermen on the lake, plowing through no-wake zones and pretty much acting like idiots to the chagrin of everyone else on the lake, including their fellow derby participants. Unfortunately, the organization that should be championing good behavior (BASS) instead is glorifying the bad by rewarding their Elite anglers with TV time for arguing with each other, cutting each other off, etc. It's no wonder anglers at lower levels think it's OK to do the same.
  9. You said a mouthful there, Stump Bumper. Can't disagree with a word of it. It's my personal opinion that this new bunch of tournament fishermen are a direct reflection of the discipline they get at home --- absolutely none. And theref.ore they run around the roads, ramps and lakes like a bunch of hooligans with no respect or regard for anyone else
  10. Thanks for the report. Gonna take a couple of weeks of cooler weather for things to get going good.
  11. We shall see what materializes.
  12. Very interesting indeed. Thanks, Phil.
  13. And baby elephants don't need jerseys.
  14. Walleye gamey? Are you eating the carcass and throwing away the meat?
  15. Those are some fine-looking critters, Steve.
  16. Drone Dogs .... now that's funny
  17. Now we wait for the inevitable reply from the "woe is me" guy who has a new truck and bass boat but claims he can't afford to "waste" Centipedes by sticking two of them together.
  18. Steve, we went last Friday. You can see Donna's report on this forum. Am going again Friday.
  19. This was in the Branson Tri-Lakes News ... A woman was hospitalized with serious injuries following a collision between two personal watercrafts on Table Rock Lake Sunday. According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Sarah A. Obermeier, 28, of Kansas City, was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield as a result of her injuries. The report states that Obermeier was driving a 1994 Yamaha Waverunner west of Point 1 on Table Rock Lake at about 1:20 p.m. when she was struck from behind by another 1994 Wave Runner as she was slowing to stop. The driver of the other vehicle, Nicholas W. Obermeier, 27, also of Kansas City, was not listed as injured in the report. According to the report, both drivers were wearing life jackets.
  20. C4F, I hope you didn't send QB any of those War Eagle spinnerbaits. He doesn't know what he's doing and may hurt himself with them. He's a dragger, not a winder.
  21. Isn't it amazing some of the complete absence of brain activity you see out there? Especially on holiday weekends. Boggles the mind. Glad you guys managed to catch a few in the midst of that circus.
  22. Funny stuff, rps. Thanks for the chuckle. That's part of what makes OAF the great site that it is.
  23. That's a beautiful spot. Glad you guys had a decent day. Had to be a challenge out there with all of the boat traffic.
  24. There is also a Battery Outfitters store in Golden just west of Shumaker Tire. Their website is: batteryoutfitters.com
  25. Chris, you can't go wrong with ProGuide. Get the big 225 amp models. You won't be sorry. Been using them for years and they've never failed me.
