  1. MLF = Major League Fishing. It's on The Outdoor Channel at various times. You can also look at their website at: www.majorleaguefishing.com
  2. Got one of those $50k measuring boards myself. LOL
  3. I agree on the Pico Perch.
  4. Great day, redlegrgr10. Did you happen to notice water temp?
  5. That's a fine-looking young man. And not a shabby Champion either.
  6. And just wait, someone will come on here and say they won't be fishing it because $1 a lure is more than they can afford.
  7. I'd have to agree --- other than the chuck-and-duck rig, there are two baits that stand out as big-bite producers FOR ME (yes, some of you will have others): the jerker and the Fin.
  8. Weighed 3.21 pounds and was nearly 17 inches.
  9. Now that's funny. Reminds me of what I always say about drop-shotting being like solo sex: We all do it but we aren't likely to own up to it.
  10. Very easy answer for me. Fishing without Donna just isn't fishing for me anymore. On occasion --- on a weekday when she's working --- I like taking a guest from the forum. Did that three times this past year and enjoyed every trip. The only other exception would be if Donna and I have a tournament coming up and I have a chance to get in a weekday practice round while she's working.
  11. Thanks for your comments and please pitch in anytime. Always interested to hear what folks who live to be your age have to say.
  12. Can't argue one bit with that. I ordered some a couple of weeks ago and got them in 3 days.
  13. I'm all for cutting the Zinkers or the Zeroes. Not too hep on the TRD's after looking at them in-person the other day.
  14. I can think of a lot of reasons I'd choose one bait over another, but 12.5 cents per bait is not among them. At those savings, it would take 80 baits to add up to a $10 bill, which still wouldn't buy breakfast for you and your fishing buddy anywhere that I know of except maybe McDonald's. I'm going to throw what works and what I have confidence in.
  15. I am with you, Dave. About keeping it simple. I've already taken up golf.
  16. Doug Vahrenberg is a MIssouri guy and probably the best anywhere with Humminbird electronics. Here's a link to his videos page and you should find the answers to just about anything you want to know by watching the numbered series of videos that are listed down toward the bottom of the following page. http://www.dougvahrenberg.com/Videos.html
  17. Way to get after 'em, Cody. Glad to hear the jerkbait bite seems to be coming back around.
  18. Don't you have some lead to pour?
  19. Thanks, QB. Sounds like things are starting to turn in the right direction. Just not as fast as we'd like.
  20. Hey jay bird, thanks much for the report and it doesn't have to be a record-setting day for your reports to help us regulars --- or anyone else who is capable of taking your info, processing it and turning it into success for themselves. You provided everything I'd like to know except for two things ... water temp and sky/wind conditions. I do not want to know specific areas, first because I don't want to intrude on your places and second because my greatest joys in fishing are finding fish and watching my wife catch them. I do enjoy catching fish still, but after 40-plus years of fishing, it's a lot more about the hunt than the catching for me. Thanks again for a good report and please keep sharing.
  21. Sounds like the fish are moving to the staging areas. A-rig bite could go away early this year. Changes the dynamics of tournaments when that happens.
  22. Your top photo perfectly illustrates why fishing was so tough. Nothing harder than bluebird skies with no wind. Glad you got out and enjoyed some time on the water.
  23. Nice job, Alex. Good to hear the fish are moving around and that the Rock Crawler is gonna be a good one. I suspected there might be some staging activity going on from where we found them last weekend. Just afraid I'm getting all pumped up for nothing. We shall see. Glad you had a good day.
  24. Pretty good haul. Lots of fun ahead.
  25. Mizzou Schmazou ... see you guys in Fayetteville next fall
