  1. Great report, abk. Thanks for the detail. Glad you had a decent trip.
  2. Nice trip, gitnby. Good to see a report from some of the old guard here!
  3. Worm color looks like red/black core.
  4. Sounds like you found some quality fish. Thanks for the report.
  5. Yep, that and Dardanelle are both good summertime options. Glad you've been catching some and getting some river experience.
  6. Grand is an hour's drive west. Table Rock is an hour north. Just sayin, there are options.
  7. Ding ding ding ding!!!! Watched this from a front-row seat for more than three decades in the newspaper business. Thus my pessimism. The only way to get these people's attention is with the voice of someone with more money than all of us combined. Hmmmm, do we know any such person? Oh wait ... what about Johnny Moneybags? After all, isn't he an icon in the sport of fishing and vitally concerned about our natural resources? Shoot, seems he'd be particularly interested in this world-renowned fishery that rests in his own backyard. Surely Johnny will use his political influence to speak on our behalf and step in front of the train.
  8. Just for clarity, let me emphasize that my stone-throwing was at "lawmakers" and not the COE. As Vernon points out, this decision will be made above their pay grade.
  9. When all is said and done, what the Average Joe wants vs. the powers that be (i.e., those who make the laws and the richy-rich folks who are lining their wallets) matters none. Strength in numbers is a thing of the past, if indeed it ever existed at a political level. More docks on Table Rock means a whole lot more money for a lot of folks and the wishes of a handful of us fishermen doesn't mean diddly squat to the lawmakers. Sorry to come off negative but IMHO, that's the cold hard truth of the matter.
  10. Holy moly. I don't see a single bait in that whole bunch that I wouldn't like to have.
  11. Of course, there is also the custom painting route for Warts and such. 😀
  12. Both HLS locations are already sold out. Can't imagine why. 😂
  13. Red Bug should be a good one in early spring.
  14. Interesting
  15. For general purposes, the White River arm begins where the White and James rivers split a mile or so west of the Highway 13 bridge at Kimberling City. The James goes north and the White continues west. The Kings dumps into the White just west of the Highway 39 bridge at Shell Knob.
  16. Yes, when I jack my Ranger up to its highest point, I can maneuver it like a single axle. It pretty much lifts the front wheels off the ground, making the rear wheels the pivot point. Another advantage to owning a Ranger.
  17. With my 2013 tandem RangerTrail, I can run the tongue jack close to the top and then push the trailer tongue right or left as far as I want.
  18. Strange Day 1 for sure. And lots of movement likely today and Sunday.
  19. Very good job.
  20. Come on Ketchup. You were making a run at me last week. 😃
  21. Starting to sound something like the fish kill we had last year or the year before.
  22. I'm afraid that ship sailed a generation or so ago when the liberal mindset decided it was abusive to teach children respect by applying correction liberally to their backside.
  23. That's definitely dropshot territory. Some might recommend a spoon.
  24. What possible political agenda could the Corps have? They are essentially a sub-branch of the military.
  25. I'm another member of the No Braid Bunch. For me, it's more trouble than it's worth on Ozarks highland reservoirs. As for casting, you gotta match the rod to the purpose and then do as the guys above say and let the rod do the work for you. I'm far more of a winder than a stagger and part of the reason I have the all-day stamina that I do is that I let the rod load and unload, which takes most of the work out of casting.
