  1. Unfortunately, I don't have it. Wish I did.
  2. These storms won't kill the bite. Mark Davis won a BASS derby here in March 2004 by running TO the dirty water up the White River. There was a 5-inch rain the night before the tournament started. Main-lake water that week was 43 degrees, but Mark found 50-degree water running into the lake. As the tournament progressed, he stayed in the stained/warmer water by moving with it each day. Incidentally, he threw a spinnerbait and vintage Wiggle Warts that he got from Jeff Fletcher. There's a pretty good series of articles about his week online at: http://www.nighthawkpublications.com/journal/2/journal243-1.htm There are links at the bottom of each article to take you to the next day.
  3. Good job, Shanman. Hasn't been extremely easy lately, to say the least. Glad you got out and had a good day. To post pics, click on "More Reply Options" and then scroll down to the "Attach Files" section.
  4. Hello bass in the bushes.
  5. I split mine half where the left side is PB and right side is J. Just make sure you don't get the PB on the right and the J on the left. The LM and SM will both turn their noses up at it. The spots will still bite it but they'll bite anything.
  6. We don't call him Super Dave for nothin.
  7. High-water fishing can certainly be crazy good on Table Rock, but sure don't want to see property damage like we've had in recent years. Maybe it will get high enough to be fun but not to the point of costing any lives or money.
  8. All of you guys please continue to use your spinnerbaits as dust collectors. They are outdated lures with little appeal for today's sophisticated bass.
  9. Yarcraft was sold too.
  10. Bass Cat Boats sold out today to Correct Craft, makers of Ski Nautique boats. Guess that means no more "all in the family" claims. http://wired2fish.scout.com/story/1530861-bass-cat-boats-sold?s=537
  11. I'm with ya 100 percent. I may be a power guy (maybe more in reputation than reality) but I enjoy fishing spinning gear. Use it for shaky heads, grubs, Neds and even certain small crank baits. You get more action out of light baits, more casting distance and --- as addiction pointed out --- more fun out of the fight.
  12. You should see the casting outfit that rps has fixed up for Ned fishing. Works like a charm.
  13. Does the color change not affect the productivity? Every time I stretch one (especially green pumpkin) it gets chalky looking.
  14. I'm with B2 on this one ... I want my ground meat cooked safely but with some juice left in it. Cows should not have to die for what some people do to them on the grill.
  15. Dang! That was a collision!
  16. That's crazy talk, Dave! It's 2 miles or more from Caboose to Schooner Creek or White's Branch. You'd either get lost or run out of boat gas since you probably only buy a couple of gallons for a 2-week stay.
  17. The pocket you'll be staying in is a darn good spot. You can start fishing at the Caboose dock and work your way to either point at the entrance and probably catch fish on the Nedster.
  18. Harpers Valley Resort in Kimberling City might be right up your alley. See link below and tell Nancy and Basil that James/Donna said hi. http://harpervalley.com/
  19. Prayers here, too, 96 Champ. There is no regard for cancer in this house, either. Donna and I are both blessed to have survived an encounter with kidney cancer. Celebrate and honor your sister's life and all she meant to you and your family. Lean on God and your friends (including us) for comfort. And get back out there fishing when you can. It's great therapy.
  20. Randy, how deep do you think you're getting the Rock Crawler on that 8-pound Yozuri?
  21. Right on target, Longball. Just be careful in clear water not to overdo the brightness factor with your oranges and chartreuse. You still want to be somewhat naturalistic.
  22. Austin, you can fish this thing from a foot deep to 40 feet. Right now, though, and at least until the beginning of June, you can't go wrong fishing it on mixed gravel/chunk rock points (and soon plain ol' gravel points). As the water warms thru the 50s and into the 60s, you can also go to the back half of creeks and pockets and find the last place where the creek channel bends up against the bank and fish it from the bank out to 15 feet in that bend. One key is to not overwork it. Don't hop it, just pull it along the bottom, and let it sit still for 15-30 seconds while doing this. Should be tons of archived info on this site about the Ned. You might dig around and see what you can find by guys better at Ned fishing than me.
  23. Austin, I'm not real bright sometimes so it helps when people sgeimplify these things for me. Get you some Strike King Zeroes or Z-Man Zinkers in green pumpkin and PBJ (peanut butter & jelly). Don't bother with the new Z-Man TRD baits. The Zeroes or Zinkers cut in half work just as good or better. Contact dtrs5kprs on this site and order some 1/8-ounce and 1/16-ounce heads with Mustad hooks from him. I'd recommend you start with at least a dozen of each. Even with his very good wire weedguard, you're just going to hang up at times and lose some baits. Use only Loctite gel superglue in the squeeze bottle to attach the bait to the jighead and only use one tiny drop. Cheap super glue will melt the Elaztech plastic and just doesn't work worth a crap. Be certain to get the bait very, very straight on the hook before glueing it. I like to put the bait on first and make sure it's all straight then pull the head of the bait back down just enough to put the tiny drop of super glue on the top of the bait. Push the bait back up against the head but only enough to make it touch the flat part of the mushroom head and hold for about 15 seconds. If you push too hard, it was cause the plastic to flare out and be ugly. Throw the rig on a spinning rod with either 6-pound mono or 8-pound Invisiz-X fluorocarbon. Good luck out there.
  24. Bandit 200 and 300 series are excellent baits and there are lots of nice colors. They will work anywhere you'd throw a Wiggle Wart. I throw the 200 year-round in the Kings and James river arms.
  25. Good report, Champ. Donna and I fished the USABassin derby out of Big M and had similar results ... just one keeper and didn't catch it until 2:30. Ned rig was responsible for it. Donna caught a few on a jig but no keeps. I caught quite a few on a blade and jerk bait up shallow but again, no keeps. Gotta get better soon.
