  1. Hard for working folks to do both. We give it a heck of a try though.
  2. Jim, so glad to have you here on the forum. I only hope that if I live to see 90, I will still be able to fish and golf. The fact that you still do both is a testament to your will not only to live, but to live actively. God bless you this Christmas and in the coming year. Onward.
  3. Addiction, we will launch at Shell Knob around 7 a.m. That will put us reasonably close to the places we've been catching them in the Kings and the White. I just haven't been able to get any kind of shallow bite going down below the SK bridge. Weather Channel is calling for a 70% chance of rain but I'm thinking it may be a real catch-em day with that cold front moving in.
  4. Agreed Bo. Fish are really in nice shape and the females are starting to pooch pretty good. Spots are as big around as they are long.
  5. Great stuff Thumbs.
  6. Good luck, addiction. Donna and I will likely be back up that way on Saturday.
  7. I would just add that I'm really grateful for all the friendships made here on the forum. Appreciate you folks putting up with my pigheadedness. Glad we are all able to help each other learn more about this fabulous sport. Merry Christmas and may each of you have a blessed 2015.
  8. No marbling = no good. I don't want striffling and gristle but good marbling makes a steak tender and tasty. Used to think the redder and leaner the better, then I met my really smart wife who was managing an upscale dining club in Hot Springs Village at the time and learned what makes a really good steak.
  9. I don't think it was farm animals that Hillary cut him off from. Well, wait ... he wasn't exactly choosy, was he?
  10. Congrats, you guys. Keep up the good work.
  11. This is unconfirmed, but I heard there are highly skilled/trained frogmen who work under the dark of night recovering pre-Rap Warts lost by fishermen who lack a suitable lure retriever. Each night they scour the nooks and crannies of Table Rock, taking their bounty back to headquarters, which is covertly tucked away beneath the floor of the lake (this is also where the black helicopters are kept). The Warts are then repainted and sold on eBay for exorbitant prices, and the proceeds are forwarded to the United Nations and various terrorist outfits (ISIS, the Taliban, etc.) for the not-so-distant day when they overthrow the federal government and we all start wearing towels on our heads and bathing only once a month.
  12. If you guys are ever in Hot Springs, you need to visit McClard's BBQ on Albert Pike. It's been a local favorite of many for 60-70 years, including President Clinton. Of course, he's vegan now so those days are over for him.
  13. Nothing against Randy whatsoever, but you Arkansas guys should give Rich Seals at Norm's in Bentonville a shot. He's a dyed-in-the-wool bass fisherman and a heckuva good guy. He has always treated me and Donna exceptionally well.
  14. She's geographically challenged, bo. No buoy in play. I did see you but didn't know it was you, although I wondered when I saw how far out you were and how long you stayed there. Hope you saw me wave, too, when we went by. I would've run around behind you but there was another boat fishing that bluff end.
  15. Good grief, guys ... cut it out! You're killin me.
  16. Thanks for the report, Fishrman. That's pretty much exactly what we found Sunday. Glad you had a decent day.
  17. Anyone who fishes regularly would benefit from buying the $30 annual pass. Pays for itself in 7.5 trips, not to mention saves the hassle of stopping at the entrance gate every trip.
  18. Merry Christmas back atcha, Dave. We did throw a Ned rig some yesterday. No takers but probably didn't throw it enough.
  19. Our guy Jeremy Rasnick would be the one to answer this but I believe the $4 day-use fees are required year-round at Corps parks. The seasonal closures are only for camping areas and other amenities, right?
  20. The LMB virus has resurfaced in the Kings. There's no effect anywhere else in the lake, just from the mouth of the Kings upstream. Not a fish left up there over 2 pounds and you can fish for days without a bite. I would suggest that all OAFers avoid this area like the plague and to do the entire fishing community a service by passing along this devastating news. We now rejoin our regular programming in progress.
  21. Love it! Merry Christmas back atcha.
  22. We might have to consider reinstating your river status, seeing as how you haven't made any derogatory comments about that area of the lake in quite some time. And besides, you're an OK guy most of the time.
  23. I've always been one to enjoy splashing around in mud puddles, Dave. Must be my inner child.
  24. Other side of the earth is pretty handy for us west-end folks.
  25. If you're ever looking for a smarta$$, this is the place to come.
