  1. Yep. Pretty much have to decide if you are going to fish or take pictures. It’s hard to do both and be ready for anything.
  2. Gas? Are you incapable of rowing? And the materials for those clousers?? Go dig up some worms Mr Perfect.
  3. I did get a picture of this bird in flight last weekend. It didn’t take a long lens though. He was pretty easy to sneak up on.
  4. I’m over it. Would have been nice if it would have spread this over the entire summer. I’m sure we will be begging for rain in a month. The plus side is I could put in about 300 yards from my house on the west side of Springfield and make it to Galena in a couple of days.
  5. I don’t do much bird photography unless I just stumble upon it. But most of the people that are into are using 500 to 600mm lenses and might have a teleconvertor on as well that would increase the reach. A lot of them do some heavy cropping as well. About the only real bird photography I would like to do is to photograph a duck hunt. Don’t ask me why because I don’t know, but I’ve had the idea forever. Weird since I’ve never been a duck hunter.
  6. Cool pics Mr. Ness.
  7. I love owls. Not a fan of many birds but owls are pretty special. We used to have one that lived in the neighborhood. But judging from the recent squirrel population, it has moved on. Here’s a pic I took of one out by the Springfield airport.
  8. I can't pick up any material and hold it in my hand on ebay. I can't cast a rod. I can't wander around and buy things I would have never thought of. I can't tie flies. I can't get something special ordered. I can shoot the bull. The same thing could be said for camera stores. But the good ones are still thriving. No matter what, you have to be good at business to survive. Period.
  9. Remember when you wanted the rivers to flood so you could get the gates open? You’re welcome.
  10. Used a Griffin Odyssey Spider forever. It finally started showing its age and I replaced it with a Peak. They both hold hooks pretty well.
  11. I bet they know where the fish are too.
  12. And if that doesn't work then just go home!! LOL! Wow, that's some great info Bill.
  13. I don’t think there is any crop near me anywhere. But we’ve always had a bunch of June bugs. Those Japs may or may not show each year but the June bugs always do.
  14. We have a bunch too.
  15. Yeah that was him. I wasn’t a fan but it seemed people believed him. My dad used to bass fish the lower end some and had success. But I don’t recall him ever running across any big trout.
  16. Phil would know who I'm talking about, but I sure can't remember his name.
  17. Used to be a guy on here that caught a lot of big browns on the lower lake. He had it figured out.
  18. Mine have arrived.
  19. Sounds like a good time to throw a floating worm and spinnerbait. Stockton is one of the best spinnerbait lakes in the country.

    I'm done

True. The first one I ever shot flopped around all over the place. I was only 13 or 14 and my dad and uncle weren’t there to help. It wasn’t a good time.

    I'm done

    ewwwww
  22. No. But unfortunately (?????) my Herculaneum location runs really smoothly. They don’t require or want a whole lot of attention.
  23. You guys are convincing me that I need to spend some time fishing when I’m working in that area.
  24. I’ve always had good service from Gasconade Hills and floating around their area.
