  1. My first Central Pro-Am tournament as an amateur was on Bull. The second morning it was 28 degrees up by the dam and we fished the K-dock area. Did pretty good too. If I would have been with that guy the first day too I would have made some money. But It was a cold trip in the morning.

    What's Cooking?

Yeah I've done it on a Weber with lump charcoal and NO pizza stone very successfully. I've also done it on a pizza stone in a Big Green Egg but liked the results I got out of the weber better. But I have more experience at that as well. Temp is everything with pizza.

So you did buy one! How was it? Worth the cash?
  4. A kid could fall in the water and drown. We better drain that sucker.
  5. I see you have been to Oneshot's school of report writing. \
  6. When I was trying to get them to budge on float tubes I just sent an email to their customer service department. It took a little bit but a lady that was over such things did contact me. I don't still have her name or contact or I would share it. Hopefully she's not there anymore because she was less than helpful. Good luck.
  7. Springfield City Utilities. They are the only ones that can make any change.
  8. Yep They are good people too. Little bit different environment but still good people. I've called them before and told them that I'm leaving my vehicle someplace and I need them to move it down to their place sometime during the day. Just make sure when you hide the key it's not inside your locked vehicle or it won't be at their place when you get there.
  9. Lots of people have great luck with them and love them. And I did at one time. They just don't hold up in my environment. Pretty sad that a $30 reel will outlast them. Still a good product though or they wouldn't be in business.
  10. I bought one last year on a whim just to see if it would last. Drug it around in the gravel, soaked it in the water, kicked it around in the bottom of my canoe. So far so good. I'm sure it's not expensive enough for most though.
  11. No its not but I have had people do this to me for as long as I can remember. And I would say the majority of them have been older crappie fishing on Pomme. They are some of the worst in the world. But I do know that by talking to most that have done it that they had no idea and meant zero harm. You go screaming at them and they will be as confused as a dog that you beat for something they did yesterday.
  12. How about something like this. Attach it to the side that you don't cast from with the tip pointing backwards.
  13. Weird, maybe something has changed. They have driven plenty of my vehicles over the years. The times I have used them recently though I've just tossed my canoe on their trailer.
  14. Sometimes all you need to do is stop it just enough to flutter the blades, not even a second, and jaws appears out of nowhere.
  15. I've been pretty much the same. My dad caught a huge bass from a small hole on a spinnerbait when I was 8. So it always surprises me when somebody mentions not using them very much. At 8 years old THAT was the only thing I was throwing. Nothing against you Sore Thumbs at all, but use it, learn it. It's a great bait that is very versatile. It's not the cast and wind bait that some people think it is. It does require some skill to get the most out of it. Some days it's going to break your heart but it rewards well.
  16. I agree with that too. And I do care if I catch a fish, that is really why I am there. But I no longer care how many or how big or any of that. I'm actually envious of those that keep tallies and detailed logs. Not envious enough to actually do it though. Most of my days are spent compiling information and keeping stats on a lot of different parts of our business. So that's probably why I'm not to eager to do that with fishing anymore.
  17. You don't need a clicker if you just don't care. I guess my time on the water is a different experience than most have.
  18. I don't know how many times I have been fishing a tournament and a crappie fisherman pull right in front of me. All you can do is shrug and go on. I don't know if any of you ever go any where except your house or the lake but if you look around there is rudeness everywhere. Most rude people don't even know they are being rude, just the way they have learned to live life.

    What's Cooking?

I saw one today that is getting close to 45 days. It is black but not smelly.
  20. I like those! Yeah the sinking line is the deal on the wiggle minnows. I had tried them years ago on floating line and they were decent. But on a sinking line it's a whole new deal. I keep trying to tell myself that Jeff's line was a faster sink rate than mine so that's the reason he put it on me but even I know that's not true. I'm going to go with what I have for now until I see how they perform. Might have to put testing into the hands of a 12 year old girl but I'm okay with that.
  21. I got spanked standing next to someone last weekend using a wiggle minnow, it won't happen again. Well not until next time.
  22. I first noticed this back in January. Just a sign on a tree. Sequiota used to have some nice bass and huge gills.
  23. My oldest called me one day with a flat tire. I was busy at the time so she called her boyfriend. He came and picked her up but didn't/wouldn't/couldn't change the tire. She doesn't have that boyfriend anymore. The first time I actually met my middle daughter's boyfriend he was wearing a flat billed cap. I showed him how to curve the bill properly. He doesn't wear hats to my house anymore. Don't give in too easily.
