  1. Well look at your old butt being all techy.
  2. I've had pretty good success in that area. Be careful judging what you call prime smallie water. They will surprise you sometimes. And sometimes it's just not a good day. Is that frog a little popper? You might need to step up to something bigger to get their attention or fish lower in the water column. Think big meaty flies that move a lot of water and move slowly. It's hot out there right now and it has to be effecting their feeding habits.
  3. It's overcrowded. I like some peace and quiet. If you are into the big boats and playing on the lake then it's fine. I like it a lot in November.
  4. LOZ is fun to visit but I would never own property on that lake.
  5. I do that to Cricket all the time.
  6. The first time I ever went to Falcon Lake the guy we were staying with had one of these places. Told me one morning he was going to take me over to hunt a Nilgai. I wasn't happy about this but only because I didn't want to give up any fishing time. I asked him how long it was gonna take he said, oh not long. You can just pretty much drive up to them with the truck and shoot one in the head. Whats the fun/sport in that? I went fishing instead.
  7. Nice. The tail on that first one looks really long. Maybe it's just an illusion, but compare it to that last photo. Great fish though.
  8. The leaders get real expensive after a while. I used to go through a couple each trip, but I'm pretty hard on things too. Go the mono route it works, fluoro works too but it also sinks which isn't good if you are fishing on the top.
  9. The censor sensor has a mind of it's own.
  10. Keep working on your cast. If dung is popping off then you doing it wrong. Hey I'm no casting instructor but I remember these problems. Don't use low test tippet on the James. It's not needed. Or a leader for that matter. A straight piece of 6 or 8 lb mono works great and is a lot less frustrating. Make up a few extras with a loop and keep them in your pocket. If one starts getting twisted or is all knotted up you can easily swap it out for a new one.
  11. Dude, you can't delete content. I can't even look at the old pics now and I had some questions about the very first one I think. I think you might have misunderstood the scrutiny. I wasn't trying to say that she didn't catch two nice fish, I was just saying that the two pictures you did post were the same fish, in hopes that you would post another. But you guys didn't, you just kept saying that it was two different fish. You have to admit that it's hard to plead your case when they look identical, right? Whatever.
  12. Come on Leonard, I thought we taught you better than that. Pot is no more a gateway drug to the harder stuff than Dr. Pepper is a gateway drink to Tequila.
  13. So if I test positive and lose my job who is going to provide for my children? And yes if they test positive someone should be checking on their kids. That's only a problem to the offenders. How about we make sure these kids are getting the care that they need. A parent on meth and welfare isn't providing that. Just remember most of us have to pass a drug test to be able to work and pay the taxes that funds these programs. Why should they be any different. I know there are some people out there that need some real help, but we can't get them that help unless we know there is a problem. But at the same time there are some real pieces of crap out there that are going to continue to sit on their butt and do nothing. Probably because they can't (won't) get a job because they can't pass a drug test. I have no sympathy for them.
  14. Thanks Buzz.
  15. Well in their defense they did mention rum. One time me and Wheatenhiemer drank a bottle of rum and lost a fellow OAF'er. He was never heard from again.
  16. I'd say they are the same since they were taken within 13 seconds of each other. Or maybe she's just really fast! Either way, great pictures.
  17. The good thing about smallmouth and goggle-eye is that they will hit just about anything. Buggers are good, so are clousers for some. Just about anything bounced along the bottom will catch something. Just like anything else, bigger flies are going to catch some bigger fish, but a smaller presentation will catch more fish and help build you confidence. Poppers are an absolute blast. But sometimes you don't want that popper to pop. You might want it to dive or just slide across the surface and push some water. And sometimes they just want it sitting still or drifting with the current. For that a gurgler works well. If you tie there are a ton of simple flies that you can have a lot of fun with. Here's the gurgler I have the most luck with and some other flies I like.
  18. I've been using a Sit Backer for years and have never had a problem with it. And I'm bigger than you.
  19. I like food. And I'm hungry as usual. Plus that looks awesome.
  20. Oh good, now you're gonna start the fat jokes again.
  21. Loser. They should take his fishing license.
  22. It will probably have another surge right around back to school time and then hopefully it will be done.
  23. Cheater.
  24. Just to clarify, you are the "dumb people". And you should remove it.
