  1. I think I hosted the last one
  2. Thank you for your service to our Country and Happy Veterans Day!
  3. OK, Flysmallie........I'm In! When is the dead line and you said it is warm water flies???
  4. DD'sMC finally found where I was hiding my real flybox. It's not so full anymore She is getting even for all the times I borrowed hers
  5. There was a good population of them dweling in the bluff caves above Beaver, Arkansas around the 60's also. The use to say the best boots you could get were made from Nauga's hide.
  6. Creve Coure (SP?) Lake by St. Louis is an Ox Bow lake. The Mo-Mo has definately taken up residency around Upper Taney. He has increasingly been feeding on the speared trout that the Gooney Birds collect for him, because the Nauga population has started to dwindle. The increasing bear population down at Taney should help with decreasing the Mo-Mo's trout consumption because the bears are a little closer to the normal prefered diet of Nauga to the Mo-mo.
  7. I have tied some dry midges on size 32 hooks for Taney. Have caught a few fish on them. I think I have a tube with a few of them still in it if you would like them. It was fun to try but not very efficient. I too have tied the micro eggs on 28's and 30's. I think I still have a few of them around too???
  8. DD'sMC and I will be there!
  9. Been tying giant weighted sow bugs that I call Lip Rippers, slump busters with marabou that I call Fish On Flies, T&A rainbows that are not articulated with a full body wool head and dumbell eyes that I call mini bows. DD'sMC has been tying Icy Blue sow bugs.
  10. That is a great knot that is fast and easy to tie. One thing about the video that I dont understand is...why is the guy thanking John Wilson for something Davy invented???
  11. Thats Henry. Haven't seen him since this spring.
  12. The Charts and Graphs indicate that the water may be shut off at 10:00 p.m. tonight. DD'sMC and I are planning on getting down there around 9 p.m. to fish the North shore for a while below outlet 2 then chase the water down out to the big hole. Anybody else fishing tonight?
  13. Funny story! Reminds me a whole lot of an adventure up in Alaska involving Michael Kyle from BCO, a bear and some salmon.
  14. No secrets with me. I gave the materials already. Still have not found my camera upon returning from Alaska????? I'm just kind of handycapped with pictures for instructions right now. Marabou Tail in white, dubbed body in white then flashy red, grey pine squirrel collar and a conehead. Add lead wire wraps for more weight in running water.
  15. They shut the water off at midnight last night. There was only about 1/2 of a unit running when we got there at 10:30 and the North bank was very fishable all the way down to the steps by outlet 3. A new fly produced very well last night catching a 21" brown right off the bat. Caught several rainbows of quality size fishing the water falling after midnight all the way down to Big Hole. Fishing really heated up down at the big hole after the moon set behind the bluffs and stayed hot till about 3:30 a.m. Caught several fish on this new minnow pattern just drifting and stripping. The fly has a marabou tail, dubbed body, and pine squirrel collar with a cone head. 3:30 a.m. the fish shut down and we could not buy a bite. Finally gave up at 5:45 and headed home. Had the whole place to ourselves last night. Hard to believe this time of year??? Whats going on people???? Seeing lots of nice sized browns, but no real monsters yet. Hope the water continues to get shut off at night every now and then.
  16. Is that all he sold you??? Glad you like the new rod. I sure do like sage rods myself.
  17. Coast should be clear after about 9:00 a.m.. Should have limits by then. You'll have to come over for some goose poppers marinated in Mountain Dew and rolled in bacon. We like bacon!
  18. We use to fish the Missouri side all night. Never fished the Alton side. Usually took a group of people to feel a little more safe, but never had any incidents there.
  19. Use to hunt Howell Island 15 or 20 years ago. Long walks in. Use to have corn and beans in the fields in the middle. Southern end use to be the best. Bagged lots of turkey out there. Boating in from Little Femme Osage Slough on the Weldon side to the Southern tip usually worked better than dragging a deer 3 miles out of the woods. Good luck out there.
  20. DD'sMC, my brother and I got down there at 4:30 am and launched the boat. Did very well on several drifts then the sun came up and we concentrated on conditioning the geese for tomorrow morning......
  21. Dont worry Phil, DD'sMC wouldnt let me do that to you
  22. Kudos to you, Phil Lilley and all the volunteers....You Guys Rock!
  23. Thanks Rick. I still have all my body parts but I did bring back an extra body part from one of them bears up there. I now have a nice "Bear Whistle" that I am more than happy to let people I dont like blow on. We are moving in our house today and should be fishing Taney tonight if I can find all my gear. Its good to be back!
  24. I too am easily entertained....I can stand all day next to Rick watching him sight fish!
