  1. Im looking for someone that does custom lure painting that you guys would recommend. I brought home 1/2 dozen original Storm Wiggle Warts and a little over 2 dozen original Storm Magnum Warts with most of them still in their un-opened box from Alaska. They are all in salmon colors and flavors that do not work very well in the rivers we fish up there, and I would like them to be turned into Table Rock colors and flavors. Any leads that you guys might have in the Branson/Kimberling City area would be appreciated. Thanks
  2. Its probably been 25 years since I've hunted Maries Temp Clair. Grew up in that area.
  3. Yes I was interviewed for the table rock section. Were u the Taney section?
  4. I have mentioned to MCD that this book would be a great gift. Thanks for sharing the info Chief!
  5. Great report Phil. Thanks for sharing. Those look like gigging marks to me??????
  6. start with a dozen decoys and some cammo. You have to be where the ducks want to be. Do some scouting. Looking forward to reading about your up coming adventures.
  7. im interested in both but wont be back in the Branson area till mid Oct. If you still have them available, let me know.
  8. Did not get out on the water till 1 p.m. today. No wind and warm temps. Stayed in the blind for an hour and shot one green wing and two widgeon. Did get 2 duck hunters in at the lodge today from Arkansas. Maybe I can talk them into a cast and blast on the Naknek. Ducks in the morning and giant rainbows in the afternoon?????
  9. That's the only bad thing about hunting up here. All the birds are in their eclipse phase and usually the only way to tell the drakes are by the wing patch coloration. Two of the mallards were starting to get the breast colors and just a touch of the green on the heads but that is rare.
  10. Second day of regular duck season up here in Alaska was a shoot fest this morning. Low clouds and mist. 3 of us ended up with 21 mallards and 3 pintail.
  11. I cant believe it. I got tomorrow morning off from guiding and my wife DD'sMCD has the morning off also. We have plans to be on the river by 6:45 am for the second day of duck season up here in Alaska. Hope to be off the water and back to the dock by noon for a fly out lunch in a DeHaviland Beaver to some where in remote western Alaska. Might be some rainbow or dolley varden fishing involved with the second half of the day.
  12. Had a good morning up here in Alaska for opening day of duck season. There was a little bit of fog on the water and the temp was 27 degrees. Got my limit of 8 ducks in less than an hour. 4 widgeon, 3 mallards and one pintail. Spent more time putting out decoys, picking them up and collecting birds than actual hunting. Had several flocks of 30 to 50 birds wanting in on the decoys this morning..... ahhhh, the smell of fresh burning powder on the crisp cool air with ducks and feathers raining from the sky is a great thing.
  13. A horrible accident. Prayers for the families and all involved.
  14. two blinds built and brushed up here in Alaska today on the Naknek River. Want to get one more brushed in in the next 19 days. Ptarmigan season started 2 days ago. Lots of pintails and wigeon starting to show up on the river. a few harlequins out there too. Its just about go time!

  21. Gotta love getting in a Beaver!
