  1. Marty, You got me all excited to hear the reports from this hunt. Hope the best for you!
  2. Those are some great pictures Phil.
  3. When Brother Dave comes down. We run all day long and when we finally get home, we eat, clean birds, and go to bed, then get up and repeat.
  4. All were banded local. Not seeing any redheads. Felt pretty lucky just to see the mallards we saw today. A couple of gaddies out there today also.
  5. I put a new choke in my sx3 the other day. Had a drake and a suzie coming straight in. Aimed at the drake, pulled the trigger and dropped the suzie on the left. 20 minutes later, had 2 drakes and a suzie coming straight in again. Aimed at the drake on the right and the suzie on the far left fell. Taking that choke back!
  6. It was a fun three days for sure. 3 outta the 6 honkers had bling yesterday. Love it when that happens!
  7. Cool picture. We found some green on the Rock today. Better late than never!
  8. My brother, Brother Dave, came down Monday night for some power hunting. We got up early on Tuesday to hunt Taneycomo. Saw 3 or 4 birds flying and had one almost work us. Slow, slow morning. Took out about noon and headed to Table Rock to scout some new areas that I've been wanting to go look at. Did an afternoon hunt on the Rock at a place where some geese have been coming in to roost, but they did not come in till 15 minutes after shooting time ended. Big goose eggs on Tuesday. Hunted the Rock Wed. morning and tore up some golden eye early. Then the geese came by. 3 different flocks and we pulled 2 out of each flock. Headed back to the areas we scouted the day before and found a cove loaded with mallards. Hunted that area this morning and pulled down 4 greenheads. Did another evening hunt for the geese this afternoon and they came in 20 minutes early today. Managed to pull the lead bird out of the sky on the first shot, but flubbed the next two. Pretty fun three days. Had to work hard for what we got, but enjoyed hunting with my brother.
  9. Marty.....you are the goose king!
  10. I know where you were!!!!! Well, the geese ended up coming through at 9:38. The swung about 80 yards to the left of me. Saw 3 more gadwall and that was it.
  11. For you local fellas, any ideas where I am? I bet Crappiefisherman knows
  12. How bout a picture of the view
  13. It has come to a grinding halt here. Sometimes we get some geese to fly by around 9:30. Ill stick it out till 10 and see what happens
  14. I was dove hunting last year at my father fin laws farm and shot at a coyote just to run him off. 25 yards and he dropped dead with 7 1/2 bird shot
  15. Looks like cord wood
  16. There sure are
  17. Thats what I'm hoping for on the Rock right now. Only seen 3 so far and dropped one
  18. Nice haul! Now that's a stack of birds
  19. Haha. I hear ya there. As you can tell, theRock is a little slow this morning. Only one golden eye so far. My brother and I have a saying.....if someone ain't bleeding, we ain't having fun. It kinda goes with that "hold my beer and watch this" thing
  20. I said the fox yesterday morning. He did not get close enough then. LOL
  21. I have been to Naknek and even guided there for 2 years. For the price, they have alot to offer. Nice little greyling stream call Idavaine Creek. It can have some good bows in it also. Caint beat Brooks River for dry fly and streamer fishing in June for monster bows. Margot creek is in the area too. Great little fishery. And of course, the smolting rainbows in June on the Naknek are incredible. 32 inch bows running in packs like wolves, crushing the smolt. I just dont see how you can beat the fishing oportunities for the price. Might check into some stuff in Wood Tick-Chick State Park in western Alaska.
  22. Been enjoying every day of the season on TR BS and Taney. No, its not as good as last year, but I'll take it
  23. Glad you got on some Rick. As soon as the duck season thing is over, I'll be back to harrassing the fish again.
  24. Im pretty sure you told us. I want to see it. LOL!
  25. It was pretty cool. He was flanking me pretty far out. I called 3 times, he turned, locked up and came straight in. Just like a duck!
