  1. Mercy, this thread had me chuckling! You boys are ruthless! - OOOOOOoooooooooohhhhhhhhh................you guys are in trouble when Tim gets here!
  2. You may have already checked this site, but a buddy of mine has used it a few times to rent places with good success. - Although, that still may not help the pontoon rental status. - I have no interest or anything to gain by posting this site; just heard a few good things firsthand. - http://www.vrbo.com/
  3. - Not knocking the jon boat at all. Just the opposite, I was gonna tip my hat to yah. Goes to show you don't need some $30-40K rig to catch the bigguns'! Great job!
  4. How about the Mill Creek Campground/Boat launch area past the 13 bridge in KC? I think that's all public, isn't it? - It's got that big peninsula of campsites. The campsites run down the center of the peninsula, then there's about 30+ feet or so until the lake all around. So it's not like you're anywhere near intruding on peoples sites. We've always done well fishing both sides and on the end of that peninsula. Plenty 'o' fish within casting distance of the shore!
  5. Thanks Phil, I tried to go to the link; but it wouldn't work. - MST, that is one HECKUVA nice fish! - And it looks like you were in a jon boat too?

    - Yup, just got back home from fishing the KC area this morning. Was down for 3 days. Moss was really not an issue. If you got some moss, cast 10-20 feet away, and it's typically gone. No big deal at all. Looks like it's REALLY breaking up from what it was last month! ......ugh!
  7. - Yup, I'll be around Sunday and Monday. We usually stay in the KC area. Typically don't make it up to Aunt's Creek. But, if we stink it up around KC, we may head up there. - I'll be manning an old silver/blue Basscat with OAF stickers on the outboard and there'll be 3 of us squeezed in the boat. - Doesn't look like Table Rock will be pulling much water, but Beaver will be moving some from about 3-10 p.m. (subject to change)
  8. - I wondered the same thing, the anticipation is killing me. Not sure how much rain they got, But, I'll know in a few hours. - Be on the lookout for the ole OAF stickers and say howdy!
  9. Thanks guys, these are awesome tips! Great read! I've always been a fan of the slowly squating down when you have a follower, and the lack of eye contact too.
  10. All this talk about throwing topwater had me thinking. (yes scary, I know) - I've read multiple posts about people throwing topwater, and they have lots of fish follow the bait; but don't commit. What has everyone found to be the best way to get those following fish, to commit on a retrieve? (if there even is a good way?) - Feel free to add any other thoughts to the thread too.
  11. - I'm just the opposite, I'm thrilled with the weather report. The few days I've done my absolute best on The Rock have been just like this weekends forecast! (lets hope I didn't just shoot myself in the foot.)
  12. Awesome pics and report! I love those pics of the terrain too.
  13. - Even better, thanks again!
  14. Yup, thanks trout. Excellent detail. Very helpful! - Out of curiosity, did you throw any other topwater/wake baits besides those mentioned?

Good report techo. Sorry you didn't weigh more fish; but at least you guys had fun! I'm surprised to hear the stickbait bite still happening. Shows what I know. - I keep thinking more and more about trying to fish some AIA events. I'm a bit jaded after fishing a few events in another circuit; that were not so well run/organized. Although they claim/appear to be. - It sure would be a great way to put some OAF names to faces.
  16. - I actually found some of the 4 inch jointed redfins on clearance at our local Ya'll-Mart, so I grabbed those. But, I picked up some 5 inch jointed in smokey joe at our BPS. They were going like hotcakes. - The 4 inch seems incredibly light, may be tough to cast, even with a touch of breeze. I'm gonna try weighting the tail a bit and see if that helps any. May have to mess with the buoyancy though too. But, I'm with you on the 5 inch Spinnaker, I think that may be the way to go. And my understanding is that the redfin is supposed to replicate the gizzard shad down there. And when I was down last month, there were a few struggling on the surface I picked up to snap pix of, and paint cranks to match; and they were HUGE. Many as big as the short smallies and kantucks we were catching! - I've had a few redfins over the years, but rarely threw them; so they faded away somewhere? Anywho, I forgot those 5 inchers having those ridiculous saltwater, galvanized looking dull crappy hooks. Sheesh! I replaced those seconds after the package was opened. - As I mentioned, I paint my own cranks too, so I added a little splash of color to a couple of them, not sure if it's necessary, just a personal preference. But I guess we'll see next week! (painted one TRS for good measure too) - But with the flukes, I recall most the minners I saw shooting around last month being in the 4 inch range; so I'll probably throw those a bit too. (although I've got the 5 inch flukes on standby) - Hopefully I'll have something to report next weekend! (fingers crossed)
  17. Another great podcast; these are so great to listen too. Thanks again guys!
  18. - Holy Moly zander! That things impressive!
  19. - I should clarify, I learned the hard way about Table Rock too. Heck, she still hands my tail to me when I come down there; but I'm getting better!
  20. Not trying to hijack your thread po, but this question should be fitting? - What length flukes and redfins--jointed or non-jointed(speaking of topwater) are preferred on The Rock? - I searched the archives on both and have a pretty good idea; but just want some more current opinions. - (I noticed i'm running low on both and need to re-stock)
  21. - I hear yah Jason, whatever you can offer up would be great! And man, truer words have never been spoken, made me smile : - "Love the lake when its quiet and dark."
  22. Congrats Jason, that's fantastic. - I'll be down in a bit over a week, and plan on doing the night thing too; but it'll be Saturday thru Tuesday, so no disturbance to any of the Mill Creek night tourney fish. - If you wouldn't mind posting reports, that would be greatly appreciated! That night bite is a blast, and having some insight on any recent developments always helps!
  23. - That's what I love about Table Rock, you've gotta leave many traditional bass fishing habits at the dock. Get away from the bank, everybody else already pounded the heck out of it. - "Kind of like Dick Collier says, "The only reason there is a shoreline on Table Rock Lake is to hold in the water." You are comming primetime, they will be biting. High Prussure, High Blue like today, and its tough. Little cloud cover and a "Walleye Chop," and it gets really, really good. You are fishing World Famious Table Rock Lake, Expand Your Horizons."
  24. A bit off topic, but a plug for Tim; his Table Rock DVD is GREAT! Very informative and entertaining. No filler, lots of great info and how-to. Not just fishing footage. - Looks like Champ and Donna could put together a Table Rock how-to DVD also?
