  1. Thanks for the heads up. Just bought one. If it doesn't catch fish I'll just make it a cool pinwheel garden accessory in the flower bed.
  2. Typically in mid to late April and into May.
  3. I have one. Threw it for about 4 casts. Like you said there are just better options. Would be good for a kid or someone new to fishing when the "Red Fin" bite is going. Just throw out and reel in. I'm just not big on balsa baits to begin with as they don't have modern casting systems (weight transfer), are a soft, easily damaged wood and are double or triple of the price of their plastic counterparts. I know some love balsa for it's buoyancy properties and whatnot, like Bagley's guys. I'm just not into them.
  4. So if someone has been sitting a NIB Buckeye for a few years you made like $5 on your initial investment. Basically, since they were such a savvy investor, they can take their profits and get 2 cans of Vienna Sausage.
  5. Buckeye discontinued it about 3 years ago or so. But guess what....they JUST re-released it under a different name brand (PH Custom Lures) a few weeks ago I guess. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/PH_Custom_Lures_Wake_Up/descpage-PHCLWU.html
  6. Any sort of canned food other than veggies or fruit is just disgusitin'. Grandfather gave me some canned tamales when I was about 14 and I've never been sicker in my LIFE. I am ruined for tamales until the end of time.
  7. I'm not bashful and I'm not going to pretend that I won't be getting one of these.
  8. Hahahaha. NOT what I meant. But then again you could change the name of the Ranger to "If the Sooie Fits".
  9. If the Ranger doesn't have a name yet........Rabble Rouser....... fit's you and the boat like a glove. I'd imagine there is probably enough room on your jersey to add a boat graphics company as a sponsor. They could set you up with sparkly "Rabble Rouser" decal at 10% off.
  10. Might offend some of our Hawaiian members but okay. I thought it was a spammer as, like you said, first post has a link and his comment in this thread doesn't make sense. Who buys sunglasses in bulk to save money? Unless they are white sunglasses then Champ buys those in bulk I believe.
  11. Funny how the brain works when you are preoccupied or flustered. Like throwing a pair of perfectly good pliers overboard into the water instead of the 13" fish in your other hand. Or walking around your house asking where the heck is my cell phone or car keys and they are in your hand. Doh!
  12. Nailed it.
  13. I'd stake my extra medium jersey, Biffle shorts, a Dancin' Eel and a pre rapala wiggle wart on Dance.
  14. Gotta love smallmouth.
  15. The ninja kick he gives that snake at the end of the skirmish is impressive for a 65 (at the time?) year old man.
  16. That one is the one that hits home with me. Nothing like being clipped by the trailer hitch unexpectedly. Trailer hitch 17 - me 0.........at half time.
  17. Alex I know you are a cranking machine and I think I may try my hand a little more "power fishing". What gear ratio are you typically cranking on? I currently have 2 crank setups and both have a low 5's:1 ratios but wanted to get your opinion on that since you're Alex "Fritts" Heitman. I see a lot of BASS pro's that like to crank on 6:1 or even 7:1 reels which seems to go against conventional thinking for cranking.
  18. Nice Alex. Sun's out Gun's out.
  19. Doesn't get much better than Bill Dance bloopers. Lucky for us he has a million of them. The snake falling from the tree is at or near the top of the bloopers. For your viewing pleasure:
  20. Very nice Bo.
  21. I guess people have different expectations when they go fishing on a guided trip. Some just want to catch fish and feel the tug on the end of their line. They could care less where, when, how and would be happy with a Snoopy pole and a half hot dog if it's catching them. That's perfectly fine. Then there is the other person that doesn't care much about the results but wants to know exactly where, when, how and why the guide is doing what they are doing to get bit. Sure catching is fun but the old saying.....give the man a fish. I'd rather learn than be entertained for a few hours. Learning and then executing what you have been taught should entertain you for a week, month, season or rest of your life fishing. Just sayin'.
  22. If it's a Duckett or Daiwa brand that would be a D-Bag kit.
  23. Because even the sun would go into hiding after that sighting of an OA forum member fishing with two rods out at the same time.
  24. I only have one other person that thinks it's still special. But unfortunately, at this point it only is special on special occasions.
