  1. Havent been, but lack of running water tells me to try other places.
  2. so the difference between the surface temp and the thermocline is just 2 degees? or am i missing something.
  3. Gilly you had me till you said the water was worse than Lake of the Ozarks
  4. try a pair of wrestling shoes they are high top and a pretty good sole
  5. And we're off.
  6. 24,000 this morning, not bad, but not a great deal, went above the dam the other day, when they run water it sure makes it better above. fished O3 didnt have any trouble getting 2 limits of whites and a few hybrids in the mix, nothing on top though.
  7. slider, where at warsaw did you catch the whites above the dam or below?
  8. mark me down as shallower
  9. early in the spring, we have caught quite a few with pretty good size, dont think ive ever caught one later than end of april below the dam, out in the lake later on, jerk baits early in the spring, or sliders work pretty well.
  10. mr babler a question on shad, you mentioned threadfins, i fish texoma in the winter months and this past year in jan. they had a shad die off because of the water temp got down in the high 30s, that said, why do they not die off here when i know the water temp gets much lower? they actually had to restock the threads, they dont have a problem with gizzards, i guess they can take lower temps.kinda off topic but just curious.
  11. emjay, the whites that you are catching do they still have eggs? most of what we have caught still do, about half of the crappie also.
  12. fished again monday afternoon again with my wife, caught 18 but only fished a few hours, mainly eddies, wherever the water breaks from the flow, anything in the water usually creates some sort of change, one off my best spots didnt give up a bite, try down where the river turns back towards highway 65 past warsaw both sides. find the breaks good luck.
  13. fished below the dam friday afternoon, water running good no problem catching 2 limits of whites and a couple of hybrids mixed in several good crappie, interesting part of the day was the catfish i hooked on a 3 inch slider, 4 lb test on an ultra lite rod, an hour and a half later and a mile plus down river he beat me,didnt straighten the hook or break me off, just came unpinned.lotta fun anyway, sore arm the rest of the day.
  14. why oh why, can anyone tell me why they run the daylights out of the water during the week and shut it down on the weekends? it kinda makes me think its a conspiracy, not really just apears that way. running 33000 today ran 32000 up till saturday then shut down to 15000 sat morning. humm.
  15. im gonna have to agree, dont think that fish will go 40 plus
  16. went saturday afternoon, fished till the flu got the better of me, caught a hand full of whites a couple of hybrids, they had pretty much shut the water down, if thats the case it will probably be tough, good luck.
  17. its not warm water but truman dam has a pretty good access and they will start biting there soon
  18. went yesterday, water temp is at 38 39, caught a few crappie, a few whites and a 1/2 a ton of gar, never saw them bite the way they were yesterday, most were caught on a bite not snagged. probabley 2 weekends away if the temps stay nice good luck.
  19. my little black book shows on march 31st 2 years ago water temp was 58, now that was a warmer winter but that should be fairly close, that was at truman dam though, hope it helps
  20. grayline makes a 125 gal tank now that keep a bunch of large shad alive for quite awhile dont know the price but im sure it would be kinda pricey
  21. let me rephrase, same scenerio, shot at the deer, hit in the ear, runs infront of my car, bow kill? im not trying to start something cause its a great deer, would be proud also, just dont see the shot causing the deers death.
  22. i agree, if you hit it with a car you wouldnt get recognized ,bout the same. the hunter didnt kill it.
  23. yup, just like springtime, water temp was 58, dont know if they produce according to temp or if they never dropped in the spring
  24. no busting at all, about half the whites were 2 lbs plus the hybrids werent giants, maybe up to 5 lbs. crazy thing was many whites had eggs that looked like they could lay soon.
